Angry Birds Fight! Crimea Edition was an unauthorized satirical shock mod of Rovio Entertainment’s discontinued 2015 puzzle game Angry Birds Fight, a Candy Crush-inspired match-3 title. The mod created amid tensions following Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea by altering the original game to include politically and religiously charged content.
Upon launching the game, the player would encounter a brief graphic image before accessing a menu offering the so-called "Russian Federation" mode. Shall the player accept this offer, the original game assets will be replaced with explicit imagery: certain assets get replaced with imagery of Russian soldiers depicted with dismembered limbs and Jeff the Killer, the backgrounds become themed after World War II, and the characters become redesigned; for example, Terrence is reimagined as Jesus in a context perceived as blasphemous by Christian groups, and Red appears as a beheaded soldier.
The mod’s behavior would vary based on the device’s regional settings, specifically depending on if they were set to be in Russia or Ukraine. Players in the former country would unfortunately face a malware attack, as losing a match in the game would trigger a factory reset on their devices, preceded by a screen displaying a pale man, a message about the "consequences of being Russian," and the Crimean flag captioned "Ours!"
On the other hand, if the player set the device's region to be in Ukraine, they would fortunately gain the advantages of unlimited in-game currency and the mod's gameplay returning back to normal.[1][2]
There isn’t much written about the mod because of how harmful it is to any device, but some screenshots and TikTok clips showcasing it still exist to this day.[3]

- Sometime in 2025, a YouTuber by the name of Tranium tested the mod in his video I Tested Suspicious Phone App Malware 3 after downloading it from a Telegram link.[4]
