Srerrt.exe is a Chinese screamer program. The creator, as well as the site where it was originally published, is unknown. It was programmed in Easy Programming Language.

Payload

The "find the difference" challenge.

Upon opening, the application displays two identical pictures of a rural scene, asking the user to find the difference. However, there are no differences as both pictures are identical. After about ten seconds pass, it will display three different screamer images[1] one by one in fullscreen, accompanied by an absurdly loud, ear-splitting scream that is loud even at the lowest volume settings. This payload will activate about every 15 minutes until the user manually ends the process in Task Manager. If the user runs it again while it's still active in the background, the screamer will appear again.

Notes

  1. The first image used is Crazy Ghost, and is used in many screamers of East Asian origin such as Happy Days.exe or McDonalds.exe. The second image is the same one used in Ring.exe. The third image is the GIF used in So Intimidating.
