Shovel Dog, also known as "Dead Dog Gaming", is a shock GIF. The image has spread a lot, and likely originated on 4chan around 2010.[1][2]
The GIF depicts a Siberian Husky next to a concrete wall, being violently beaten by a shovel five times in the head and his body, along with blood spraying everywhere on the walls. The image was commonly spread on 4chan in the early 2010s but was later forgotten about. Later on, in late 2015, the image started being spammed again, causing the GIF to become popular.[3] The image also circulated on Reddit with someone reposting the GIF on several animal-related subreddits, such as r/AnimalsBeingDerps and r/funny for "fun".
The GIF would spike again in October 2021, resulting in it being posted on Twitter.
