Winterrowd.com, formerly Bloggits, was a well-known website featuring a large library of screamers created by Jeremy Winterrowd. Many of these games and videos were designed to trick people into getting scared, such as The Maze, Hit the Dot, Optical Illusions, Swearing Baby, and more.

Background

Winterrowd's Community Forum.

The website features a retro background reminiscent of the old YouTube homepage, topped with a blue heading. Visitors can explore a variety of games, videos, and animations directly from the layout. Although the site remains online, several sections such as the community forum and the "How to submit" page have been defunct for some time, resulting in errors when clicked. Users can register and log in natively or via Facebook. Additionally, the homepage provides links to Jeremy Winterrowd's official social media profiles, including YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and MySpace. Thumbnails for creations by Winterrowd and external submitters are displayed below for easy access. On individual screamer pages, visitors can toggle full-screen mode or share the media, alongside a cross-link to its companion site, Bloggits.

History

The domain was registered on July 25, 2001.[1] During its early days, the site was used to host Winterrowd's resume[2] and did not contain any screamers. In 2005, however, Jeremy Winterrowd decided to host The Maze and launch a blog; it featured both his new screamer creations and more personal topics, such as a post detailing him crashing his Jeep. This format continued until 2010, when Winterrowd removed the personal blog entries and rebranded the domain exclusively as a screamer portal, known as "Winterrowd Solutions."

On April 1, 2014, Winterrowd's website went down for routine maintenance. He subsequently announced that the site had crashed due to an overwhelming surge of traffic driven by visitors seeking screamers though it was restored a few hours later.

Bloggits

Bloggits was Winterrowd's second website. Originally registered on April 13, 2006, while he lived in Arizona, the site was created as a platform for hosting his early games and animations. However, by November 2006, Bloggits was permanently redirected to his original website, and all external links pointing to it were removed.

Winterrowd Prank Contest

Winterrowd also hosted a contest titled the Winterrowd Prank Contest. Participants were required to record targets' reactions to his jump-scare content and upload the footage, which Winterrowd would then aggregate on a dedicated YouTube channel named prankcontest. The website's popularity surged with each viral screamer uploaded, driven by the volume of user-submitted reaction videos. The website was also very controversial, considering that it had many scary games and videos. But overall, it had an outstanding reputation. And it can be considered the father of all screamers.[3]

Discontinuation

In March 2020, nine months prior to the official discontinuation of Adobe Flash, Winterrowd.com was permanently shut down.

As of early 2026, the domain name has lapsed and been taken over by a cybersquatter, currently redirecting users to a Vietnamese online casino.

Popularity

The website was featured in America's Funniest Home Videos, The Soup, Web Junk 20, and MSNBC's Countdown.
