The Rake

The Rake (not to be confused with SCP-096) is a creepypasta creature and screamer image that depicts a black and white image of a pale, skinny humanoid with long limbs, hollow eyes, and an animal-like posture in abandoned forest setting. The original image is watermarked at the bottom left corner with the text "Wildgame Innovations", and the text: "01:44:12 am 11/30/2010 0139" can be seen on the bottom right corner.

The Rake originated on 4chan's /b/ board in late 2005, where an anonymous poster started a thread with the post "hey /b/ lets make a new monster". The earliest appearance of the story was posted to a personal blog by Brian Somerville on July 20th, 2006, the story also contains allegations of strange events in the northeastern U.S. around 2003, such as a report from a "witness" in 2006 that involves an individual who had returned from a trip to Niagara Falls. At around 4 am, they awoke to see the entity, which they described as "what appeared to be a naked man, or a large hairless dog of some sort" and how the position of its body was "disturbing and unnatural, as if it had been hit by a car or something". Another report from "A Mariner's Log" (1691) claims "He came to me in my sleep. From the foot of my bed, I felt a sensation. He took everything. We must return to England. We shall not come here again at the request of the Rake". In yet another report (from 1880), a victim claims that they have "experienced the greatest terror". The writings in the creepypasta contained nearly identical descriptions of the figure.

This image has made a few appearances on screamers such as Google.exe, Try Not to Get Scared, and Do NOT Watch This Video AT NIGHT, typically depicting a zoomed in version of the image.
