This page is about a screamer or shock site, whose original copy has been deleted. |
Unlock the Mystery of May Shaw was a Liquid Generation Sabotage screamer promoting the 2007 supernatural horror film Dead Silence. The screamer was taken down along with the entire Liquid Generation website. The flash began with an opening cinematic narrated by a male voice and featuring images from the movie. The narration introduced Mary Shaw, a ventriloquist who lost her voice and was said to have her spirit live on in the eyes of her dolls.
Gameplay
The playable portion of the screamer included instructions that were also narrated. Players were instructed to click on the flashlight every time one of the doll's eyes turned red to drive away Mary's ghost. The gameplay began immediately after the narration ended, even if the player had not clicked the button yet. The game displayed a darkened view of a shelf containing multiple ventriloquist dummies, and players used a flashlight to illuminate the area. Every so often, a pair of eyes would pop up over one of the dolls, and the player needed to click on them to make the eyes and the doll disappear (although the eyes might reappear in a place where they had already vanished). After the player clicked on their fifth pair of eyes, a close-up image of the ghost of Mary Shaw (portrayed by Judith Roberts) appeared, shaking and screaming at the viewer. The Liquid Generation Sabotage jingle played without the cartoon ninja as in other Sabotages. Instead, it showed another advertisement for the same movie that was seen on the title screen, with a link to the movie trailer and a button to play again. However, the actual movie was released on March 16, 2007.
