The Maze (SuperMario9000)

The Maze is a screamer flash game series created by SuperMario9000 and uploaded to Newgrounds in February 2012, based on the game of the same name. The series title text is red and starting a level requires the player to click on a circle that says ‘Click me’ on it. Completing a level requires the player to move their mouse cursor to a spot and touching walls restarts the level.

The Maze

In the first game, the background is white and serves as a path with black walls. The game’s instructions inform the player to complete five levels; however, the game consists of only four levels. The ‘Click me’ circle is green and the goal spot is blue. Similarly to the original game, the final level has a narrow path leading to the goal. Before the player can reach the path’s last curve, a horr version of The Tooth Fairy appears with The Maze scream followed by blue text saying ‘Got scared???’ with a clickable yellow horizontal oval saying ‘Scare somebody else!’ below.

The second game’s background features rocks on sand which serves as the path on each level. The ‘Click me’ circle is blue with red text and the goal spot is green. In this game, each level has a different color; level 1 (black), level 2 (olive green), level 3 (amber), level 4 (blue), level 5 (purple), and level 6 (light green). Level 5 also features two red rectangles that move up and down that the player must avoid touching. Before the player reaches the end of the final level, a vampire appears with The Maze scream, followed by red text saying ‘Got scared… again?’ on a black background with the ‘Click me’ below, which if clicked returns the player to the main menu.
