Say It was a simple Flash prank from around 2002 made by an unknown maker. The screamer was featured also known as 'Watch This!' on FunnyJunk.

As the name implies, it is about the pop ballad "Say It" by the Kumbia Kings. It will start playing the song right away, while the lyrics slowly scroll up on a black screen, making it seem like a regular lyrics video. After 12 seconds, shortly after the line "Say those three little words I can't wait to hear", a close-up image of Regan MacNeil (the possessed character portrayed by Linda Blair) from the 1973 supernatural horror film The Exorcist pops up along with a loud scream.

Decompiling the flash reveals that the lyrics featured in this animation include the full refrain and half the lines of the first verse, even though the screamer pops up before the entire text has scrolled up. The excerpt of the song that is included in the file is also about ten seconds longer than what can be heard before the screamer.

YouTube variations

On August 22, 2006, joshtheblade uploaded a poorly made version of the Flash animation. The excerpt of the song is longer than the original flash and it uses a different version of Regan's picture from the same movie, there is another screamer from the creator of the video with the same scream from K-fee commercials.

On November 12, 2008, Abdul Rashid uploaded another poorly-made version under the simple name of Scary prank. The song roughly ends at the same place as the flash version and again uses a different picture of Regan with Pazuzu's face faded as its screamer with the same scream from Ghost Caught on Tape.

This version made by Flowgo is titled "Who Sings This Song??" in 2003. It's the same as the original but the text is green and a different font. It also lasts a bit longer than the original. The scream is also different.

On December 20, 2020, Nicholas05 uploaded a video with the same title. The video kicks off with the same lyrics from the original animation, and after the same lyric, it cuts to an image of Margot Richardson (Zender Man/Oscar Ferguson's deceased mother) edited to look like Regan, along with a text at the bottom saying "I was watching you the whole time osdildo assfuckingson!," accompanied by the same scream from the original version, followed by a loud version of the Fast Food Song by Fast Food Rockers. The screamer was removed on April 13, 2022, due to his channel was terminated.

Trivia

  • This is the first screamer to use Regan MacNeil, who would later be featured in The Maze.
  • This is the first lyric video ever posted on the internet before they were popular.
  • It may have been originally published to TeKZoned.

While I was digging some old flash animations about Halloween, since that's today, I came across this flash animation, which is kinda the same only with the "Click here to scare a friend" and replay buttons. Here's the link (As always, unclickable so no accidents happens, also rules): https://web....age_id=69291

I honestly find it hard to believe that THIS was the first screamer to use Regan as the jumpscare face...since, of course, we were all used to thinking that "The Maze" was Regan's debut as a jumpscare image...
