Sunshine.exe is a creepypasta .exe game created by NovaWare on February 2nd, 2014. It is considered a sequel of what happened in Sonic2.exe but acknowledged further on the backstory. Sunshine.exe is followed by Insanity.exe.
Gameplay
The game starts by presenting Dr. Robotnik's diary, dated November 17-19, 1992, before transitioning to a scene featuring a sorrowful Sonic with Tails.exe beside him.
Act I
After Dr. Robotnik's diary ends, the gameplay begins, and players take on the role of Tails in Act I. During the game, Tails discovers the lifeless body of a clone of himself pierced by the spikes. Tails questions how the clone managed to survive the fall and felt discomfort in the presence of deceased bodies. While exploring a grey brick area, Tails stumbles upon a mirror, leading to the revelation of yet another clone of himself, causing his eyes to momentarily turn red.
A message appears, expressing someone' delight at Tails' presence and playfully inviting him to partake in a "game", accompanied by an eerie giggle. It proceeds to the next part, Act X.
Act X
As Tails continues through the grey brick wall area, he collects grey wings and navigates cliffs. Falling into the ravine triggers an image of Tails Doll, resulting in a startling shriek and sending Tails back to the beginning of the level (because of the fact he can't die). During his progress, Tails encounters Sonic, who warns him of an impending trap. Behind Tails, a clone of himself with red eyes appears, and the scene fades to black.
A message appears, emphasizing Tails' courage as a key to his survival and hinting at his apparent inability to die. However, an abrupt interruption takes place, with a message proclaiming "BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT I CAN'T KILL YOU!!!" accompanied by a loud shriek, along with a black screen displaying blood and static.
Tails finds himself pursued by a black bar behind him. Touching the black bar triggers a screamer featuring Tails Doll.exe and the same shriek. As Tails maneuvers through various obstacles and follows an empty path, the game is suddenly interrupted by Tails Doll's face, accompanied by a sinister laugh. Tails Doll claims that experimenting with sunshine is impossible, presents itself as a god, and expresses a desire to play with Tails indefinitely. The game concludes at this point.
