Minions.exe is a creepypasta-based .exe game made by the infamous Geoshea (formerly MinionsYesCarrieUnderwoodNo) uploaded to GameJolt somewhere in 2014.
Upon launching the game, it begins with the title screen with the minions from the Despicable Me franchise above the logo for the 2015 movie Minions (despite the game being made in 2014), with the text "Press ENTER" underneath the logo, accompanied by some upbeat music. However, when the player presses the enter key, the picture suddenly changes to the minions having black eyes with red pupils with blood dripping out of them, alongside the logo being colored black and white (as well as the logo being covered in blood) for a split second, as the title screen cuts to black.
As soon as the screen cuts to black, a message in all caps pops up reading, "TOON LINK WAS DEAD... BECAUSE HE HATES THE MINIONS...", followed by another one saying, "...BUT ICO WAS GOING TO LIVE.". After the second message pops up, an edited picture of Ico from the 2001 video game of the same name with blood dripping out of his eyes pops up for a split second, accompanied by the same slow-motion SEGA jingle from Sally.exe, as the screen cuts to black once again.
A few seconds later, a red background with a red silhouette of a one-eyed minion pops up, alongside the text "HILL" on top of the screen and the text "Act 1" on the bottom left corner of the screen. The player then takes control of a minion in a grass field, as the "Hill Act 1" theme from Sonic.exe plays over in the background. Just as the minion is about to reach the last part of the level, Toon Link's dead body can be seen in the ground alongside the Message Block from Super Mario World above his dead body. Jumping on it will greet the player with this message that says: "CORPSE OF THIS FATE WHO PLANS TO GET REVENGE SOMEDAY.".
As soon as the player clicks the "OK" button on the message, the block above Link's dead body disappears, as the level ends with a cliff on the right side of it. Upon jumping on the cliff on the right side, a picture of the Squidward's Suicide creepypasta suddenly pops up accompanied by the same jumpscare sound from Sally.exe. After that, the screen cuts to static, as a message pops up saying: "YOU JUST SAW TOON LINK'S CORPSE, DID YOU, DAVE?".
The static appears again as the game's title screen pops up, except the title screen now shows the minions with black eyes with red pupils, alongside a few drops blood dripping out of them, alongside the logo being colored black and white, as well as it being covered in blood, accompanied by the same title screen music from Sally.exe. As soon as the player presses the enter key, the screen cuts to static for a few seconds, as the same red background with a red silhouette of a one-eyed minion pops up, except the words "ENJOY ICO'S PAIN" is shown above of the picture.
After the screen transitions to the level itself, the player takes control of the minion from before, while taking place in the "YOU CAN'T RUN" background from Sonic.exe, accompanied by the aforementioned level's music. As the player walks through the level, the player collects a few bananas scattered in the level, and as soon as the minion is about to reach the ending part of the level, Ico's horns can be seen in the background, alongside a blood stain underneath it, and a sign that says "ICO'S DEAD" can be seen in the background as well.
Walking over it greets the player with a message that reads: "Shame on you. Ico is now dead. He was going to live, but he failed. This is all your fault. You should have saved him, but you didn't, and now, you're next Dave.". After clicking the "OK" button, the minion disappears, as the background persists for a few seconds. However, after a few seconds, one of the images from the Suicide Mouse creepypasta pops up, accompanied by the same slow-motion SEGA jingle from Sally.exe once again.
The same level title screen pops up, except the level's title has three question marks, and the text on the bottom left reads "Act 666". After it transitions to the level, the background is replaced with a dark grey background with a few blood stains on it accompanied by the same theme from Robotnik's level from Sonic.exe. As the minion walks around the level, Gru (albeit with black eyes) pops up, and as soon as the minion jumps into the Message Block from earlier, a message pops up saying: "This is Gru. I killed Ico, because he wasn't listening to me... You should have saved him.". Clicking the "OK" button also greets the player with a message that reads: "I also killed Toon Link, and my... MINIONS.", and another one saying, "Guess what, Dave? You're next!".
As soon as the player clicks the "OK" button, as with the game's other messages, the game cuts to static for several seconds. After several seconds, a picture of Gru with black eyes and red pupils with blood dripping out of them with an evil smile pops up with the words "I AM GOD!!!" written in all caps appears onscreen, similar to the original Sonic.exe game. It then cuts to static for several seconds, before the screen cuts to black, and after a few seconds, the "READY FOR ROUND 2?" message from the original game pops up.
After a few seconds, the game over screen from the original game pops up except it shows a minion hanging on a noose, alongside Gru standing in front of a grey sky background with Ico and Toon Link's dead bodies being shown, alongside the "GAME OVER?" text being shown above the background, while the US version of the Game Over music from Sonic CD plays in the background, albeit playing backwards. Additionally, the name of the developer behind the game can also be seen on the bottom left corner of the screen as well.
The game cuts to static yet again, as a red background with Japanese text pops up accompanied by the "Cryptopia" theme from the original game, as it persists for several seconds. The game cuts to a level with a static background, as the player this time take control of Gru, as they scroll to the right side of the level. As Gru continues to go to the right, Bart and Lisa's decapitated heads can be seen impaled on sticks, alongside a few giant shadows being seen in the background. However, as soon as the player reaches the end of the level, another picture of the Squidward's Suicide creepypasta can be seen in the background, as the game ends.
Trivia
- There is an easter egg in this game. If the player presses the "Ctrl" button on the right side of the screen in the "Hill Act 1" stage, a modified version of the Shrek poster by JimmyandFriends appears onscreen, except Gru's head is pasted over the titular character's head, alongside Jimmy Neutron's head being pasted over Donkey's head, Chester V's head pasted over Lord Farquaad's head, and Princess Anna's head being pasted over Fiona's head. Additionally, the words "Gru is love, Gru is life" written in Comic Sans MS can be seen underneath the poster as well.
