ChechClear is a Russian beheading video filmed by Chechen insurgents during the First Chechen War in 1996. The footage was obtained by Russian authorities and sold to Russian media in September 1999, then uploaded to several shock sites in the early 2000s. The original filename of the video was chechclear.asf, and the meaning behind the name "ChechClear" is not fully known.[1]
