The mirror (strawpoli.me) before turning into a screamer

Strawpoii.me (alternatively StrawpoII.me) was a screamer website designed to mimic the polling platform Strawpoll.me. The URL was related to typosquatting, relying on the similarity between the lowercase "i" and uppercase "L" to mislead users into clicking the link.^[2] The site had recorded over 46,000 unique visits.

Upon access, the site displayed a flashing animated image of the character Amy Peterson from the 1985 film Fright Night, accompanied by a loud screech (same one used in Mov0001.swf). The interface included a prompt encouraging users to "copy/paste" the link to others, and a JavaScript confirmation dialogue would appear upon attempting to close the tab, asking "Sure?". Early iterations of the site circa 2014 featured the Jeff the Killer image and audio assets identical to those used in the Anne.jpg screamer.^[3]

The creator also operated several mirrors, including strawpoli.me and strawpoil.me. The former functioned as an URL shortener until approximately 2016, when it was converted into a video-based screamer. Related Swedish-hosted domains, such as jultavling.se and the 2011 "Troll Feicebruque" site, as another mirror. While another similar site we-all-short.tk was reportedly registered in 2015 for similar purposes, no archival records exist to verify its content though. The primary domain and its associated mirrors were decommissioned by 2017.

The real strawpoll.me website was shut down by Fandom in August 2022 due to "low usage".^[4]
