Herobrine.com was a screamer webpage with a misleading domain name that tricked the user into thinking the website was about the Herobrine urban legend. The website is specifically a mirror of Shafou.com, and contained an animated file of Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist, while the same scream from The Maze plays.
The creator was revealed to be snsunzhen, the same creator of Shafou.com.
History
The earliest archive state shows GoDaddy's parked site in late 2012. In March 2014, the site changes to a blog created by a chinese user, stating about his experience on his first job.[1] In December 2014, the website changed into another blog which contained a text stating "Hi, I am Chinese, Born in 1989, Male. I want to go to the US Travel, But My Tourist Visa(B2) Did Not Pass, Who can help me?".[2]
However, someone else bought the website domain and turned it into a screamer by adding a redirect to Shafou, leaving people who visited the website in shock.
