scary mario face. is a screamer video uploaded to YouTube user cretins1234 on September 28th, 2008.
The four-second clip features Mario from Super Mario 64 before abruptly cutting to a distorted face accompanied by a loud scream. In the video description, the creator explains that this effect was achieved using a "geek mario code" within an Nintendo 64 emulator. To date, the upload has gained over 150,000 views.
A sequel, scary mario face 2, was released more than a year after the original. While it initially uses the same audio, it gradually introduces rainbow, slow-motion, inverted, and "creepy-dark" filters, along with a sideways rotating effect.
