'''Internet Explorer.exe''' was a [[shock site]] [[game]] created and published by MattTheGameMaker on [[GameJolt|Game Jolt]] in 2015.
'''Google Hammer''' was a [[shock site]] and malicious variant of [[Meatspin]] created in 2012.

==Gameplay==
Upon opening, the [[Flash]] content for [[Meatspin]] and its accompanying music begin autoplaying in a continuous loop. Simultaneously, a barrage of alert pop-ups appears on the screen, trapping the user and preventing them from closing the window. The pop-ups primarily display the lyrics of the accompanying song ''[[wikipedia:You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)|You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)]]'', which read:
[[File:InternetExplorerEXE.jpg|thumb|left|140px|The low quality homepage]]
The game opens to an ''[[wikipedia:Internet Explorer|Internet Explorer]]'' homepage from 2015. The moment the player tries to type into the fake search bar, an image of a decomposing, diseased cow pops onto the screen. Below it are images of self-harm, such as wrist cutting, alongside other images that reference or imply it. A loud, clipping noise begins playing in the background. As the sound abruptly cuts out, ominous red text flashes: "SO..." followed quickly by another message above it: "I HEARD YOU LIKE RESEARCHING!" Before the player can react, a color-inverted image of a [[wikipedia:September 11 attacks|9/11]] jumper's corpse rapidly strobe-flashes on the screen. Eventually, a distorted humanoid arm lunges forward, shattering the glass before the screen dissolves into white noise, abruptly ending the game.

The program initially displays a mock-up of a ''[[wikipedia:Microsoft Windows|Microsoft Windows]]'' desktop. It presents a crudely drawn landscape as the wallpaper, featuring an ''[[wikipedia:Internet Explorer|Internet Explorer]]'' icon. Clicking the browser reveals a homepage with news articles and stock images seemingly cut off from the first game.
Another browser payload overloads [[wikipedia:Shockwave Flash|Shockwave Flash]] using a custom SWFObject script. This causes non-Internet Explorer browsers to crash, while [[wikipedia:Internet Explorer|Internet Explorer]] triggers dialog boxes, alters the window title upon exit, and shrinks the browser window to a quarter of its size in one of the four screen corners.

Once a search query is entered, the results page loads, showing a search input for "yourself" alongside corresponding images. After a short while, two red, rotating disks resembling eyes appear, accompanied by a loud scream. The screen cuts to black briefly before displaying a gruesome image of a person lying down with a disfigured face, revealing the inside of their head (similar to [[Cherrycake.org]]). Finally, the screen cuts to black once more, flashing the player's screen name in red as the program deletes itself from the desktop and ends the game.
The title page for Google Hammer jokingly states that "''Marketing Information So Good It'll Spin Your Head Right Round.''".

==Hiatus.exe==
A meta description accompanying the fake tagline also read:
[[File:Hiatus.png|thumb|200px|Opening screen of ''Hiatus.exe''.]] <!-- I don't have an English commentary for it -->
''Hiatus.exe'' was a continuation of [[shock site]]-related games similar to ''Internet Explorer.exe''.

''Hiatus.exe'' features a play button and black screen text reading:
"''Your resource for diving headfirst into internet marketing the right way. Once you experience Google Hammer, you'll wonder how you ever survived without it.''"

"''Sorry for being on hiatus for quite a while... School has been getting in my way. Lots of stuff'' <nowiki>[</nowiki>[[wikipedia:Sic|sic]]<nowiki>]</nowiki> ''have been getting in my way.''"
==Infoslash.net==
The source code for ''Google Hammer'' was largely taken from ''Infoslash.net'', which was a typosquatting site designed to mimic [[wikipedia:Slashdot|Slashdot]] through the clever wordplay of "Info Slash (dot) net."

Another line of text, located above the play button, reads:
Infoslash was actually much more popular than ''Google Hammer'', and frequent mentions of it can be found in old discussion forums as well as on [[Reddit]] and [[wikipedia:Facebook|Facebook]] at present times. On March 10, 2009, a description was contained within a [[wikipedia:Steam|Steam]] group named "Team Infoslash" where the [[website]] was listed as their official homepage.<ref>steamcommunity.com/groups/teaminfoslash</ref> The same script featured on ''Infoslash.net'' is found on a Brazilian mirror site, ''top5.lupee.com.br:80/top.htm'', where the song lyrics are replaced with dialog box labels in Portuguese.

"''This is a big game... With a loading screen!''"
==Makemoniesonline==
Previously, a variation of ''Google Hammer'' was formed by a [[Meatspin]] mirror called Makemoniesonline, though it was less malicious. Fears were held by some users that harmful applications could be downloaded onto their devices by the website, but this claim was debunked.

After clicking the play button, the screen changes into a loading screen. After a few seconds of "loading" in, it opens a web browser and redirects the user to the original webpage of [[Anne.jpg]]. A short while later, another website opens, linking the user to a Photobucket page from a user named Hypercomp01, featuring an image collection of people in vehicle accidents.<ref>s39.photobucket.com/user/Hypercomp01</ref>
The website is contained with explicit lyrics referencing "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley; for instance, a message such as "You've been Dick Rolled" would be displayed, which, according to an entry on Urban Dictionary by user Spyker44, would appear if the site was closed immediately after the animated image appeared. Despite Google Hammer originating there, Makemoniesonline was originally derived and technically drawn from [[Sourmath]] (most notably [[Nobrain.dk]]), as evidenced by its exact content replacement, browser windows, and pop-ups.

==Nothing is going to hurt you.exe==
[[File:Nothing is going to hurt you.png|thumb|right|200px|A black screen message from ''Nothing is going to hurt you.exe''.]]
''Nothing is going to hurt you.exe'' was another [[shock site]] [[game]] by MattTheGameMaker, released on an unknown date.

After opening the game, two red lines of text appear across a black screen, forming a full sentence that reads: "''Shhh... Relax. Nothing is going to hurt ye<nowiki>'</nowiki>'' <nowiki>[</nowiki>[[wikipedia:Sic|sic]]<nowiki>]</nowiki>". Almost instantly, the web browser forcibly opens and redirects the player to [[2 Kids 1 Sandbox]]. After closing out the window, the game suddenly opens another one, which features an edited image of Mr. Bean with no eyes and blood splattered all over his face, before ending with a redirect to the [[Anne.jpg]] screamer.

''VirusInstaller.exe'' was the last [[shock site]] [[game]] created by TheMattGameMaker.

The game actually begins with 2D scrolling gameplay. The player controls a blocky figure who is barely visible through animated screen static and surrounded by white noise. They are forced to walk forward until they encounter a tall figure who appears to be none other than [[Matt.exe]]. Upon getting close to him, the screen fades to black, and two circles resembling eyes begin spinning and shaking in a continuous loop. A line of red text appears, reading: "''You like to watch other people die in the 'game,' don't you?''" followed by, "''For me, it's the opposite.''" Shortly afterward, an image of a corpse suddenly appears on screen. A few seconds later, large, moving red text appears over the image, reading "It's time to die," before the game abruptly closes.

==Trivia==
*Contrary to popular belief, the homepage for ''Internet Explorer.exe'' is actually believed to be from ''[[wikipedia:Microsoft Edge|Microsoft Edge]]''.
*MattTheGameMaker created and released most of his games featuring gore and pornography, but a few years later, he deleted them (along with Internet Explorer and its sequel) out of remorse.
*Due to a coding error in ''Internet Explorer 2.exe'', an Apple logo suddenly flashes a split second after clicking the icon.

Content Warning!
The following work contains content and material that some may find shocking. Reader discretion is advised.

Google Hammer was a shock site and malicious variant of Meatspin created in 2012.

Upon opening, the Flash content for Meatspin and its accompanying music begin autoplaying in a continuous loop. Simultaneously, a barrage of alert pop-ups appears on the screen, trapping the user and preventing them from closing the window. The pop-ups primarily display the lyrics of the accompanying song You Spin Me Round (Like a Record), which read:

  • Awww, don't leave yet! The fun has just begun!
  • Sing along with me!
  • You spin me right round, baby
  • right round like a record, baby
  • ONE MORE TIME
  • THAT NEVER HURT DID IT

Another browser payload overloads Shockwave Flash using a custom SWFObject script. This causes non-Internet Explorer browsers to crash, while Internet Explorer triggers dialog boxes, alters the window title upon exit, and shrinks the browser window to a quarter of its size in one of the four screen corners.

The title page for Google Hammer jokingly states that "Marketing Information So Good It'll Spin Your Head Right Round.".

A meta description accompanying the fake tagline also read:

"Your resource for diving headfirst into internet marketing the right way. Once you experience Google Hammer, you'll wonder how you ever survived without it."

Infoslash.net

The source code for Google Hammer was largely taken from Infoslash.net, which was a typosquatting site designed to mimic Slashdot through the clever wordplay of "Info Slash (dot) net."

Infoslash was actually much more popular than Google Hammer, and frequent mentions of it can be found in old discussion forums as well as on Reddit and Facebook at present times. On March 10, 2009, a description was contained within a Steam group named "Team Infoslash" where the website was listed as their official homepage.[1] The same script featured on Infoslash.net is found on a Brazilian mirror site, top5.lupee.com.br:80/top.htm, where the song lyrics are replaced with dialog box labels in Portuguese.

Makemoniesonline

Previously, a variation of Google Hammer was formed by a Meatspin mirror called Makemoniesonline, though it was less malicious. Fears were held by some users that harmful applications could be downloaded onto their devices by the website, but this claim was debunked.

The words such as

Despite Google Hammer originating there, Makemoniesonline was originally derived and technically drawn from Sourmath (most notably Nobrain.dk), as evidenced by its exact content replacement, browser windows, and pop-ups.
