Upon opening the application, the user is greeted with a title screen with the text "Pokemon Island Adventure" and a rapid cycle of Pokémon images. Text in the lower left of the screen read "Please turn on your speaker for dynamic sound effect within the game".
Once opened, the website displays a large "ENTER" button with an 18+ age warning and a link to the Kekma [[wikipedia:PeerTube|PeerTube]] site. This link once lead to a [[wikipedia:Discord|Discord]] server before the server was taken down by Discord administrators.<ref name=":0"><nowiki>https://www.stumpgrinder.info</nowiki></ref> A link at the very top of the page leads to the e-mail of the "Kekma Crew." While the community link at the bottom leads to Kekmatube, clicking ENTER forces the web browser to enter fullscreen mode, play two extremely loud sound effects of Loud Nigra,<ref>knowyourmeme.com/memes/loud-nigra</ref> change the cursor into a picture of a mutilated penis in the shape of a swastika, and in the middle of the page, displays a video of a man squatting in a bathtub full of blood, forcing a large, bloodstained industrial screw down his urethra. The page background changes to two brightly flashing images: a man whose face was ripped off by a bear, and a surgical image of a man who held a firecracker for too long.


When the user clicked on the title screen, a voice clip of Pikachu saying "Pikachu!" played, and the screen started to flash white. The screen faded to black, and then a full-screen, GIF of a blue-tinted ghost making a pawing motion, known as Hong Kong Grandmother Ghost (홍콩할매귀신)<ref>An urban legend in Korea. She was said to be an old Korean lady who loved her cat. She took a flight to Hong Kong with her cat, but the plane crashed and both died. Her love for the cat was so strong that their ghosts merged, and so her face is half-cat and half-human. She was said to attack children who were out after sunset.</ref> appeared, accompanied by ghostly speech.

On February 16, 2022, Kekma.net reached 30 million visits, and the creator removed all shocking content from the site after three years of operation. The site briefly changed to a message explaining that the site had served its purpose, which was to study how a shock site can spread across the world with no advertising budget on the modern internet. The creator encourages people to make their own website to replace Kekma.net. Despite the shutdown of Kekma.net, the two community websites, stumpgrinder.info, and tube.kekmahub.com, remain active. Twelve days later, on February 28, Kekma.net's hosting provider completely removed the site. Kekma.net then changed to a video on tube.kekmahub.com.

Kekma.net, formerly called kekma.ga, is a bait and switch shock site launched on the April 23rd, 2019. The site was created by a man known only by his screen name Obok MeatGod (who is also known as Kekmaguy on this wiki). The website previously purported to be a far-right Reddit clone, especially of r/The_Donald and Voat.[1]

Once opened, the website displays a large "ENTER" button with an 18+ age warning and a link to the Kekma PeerTube site. This link once lead to a Discord server before the server was taken down by Discord administrators.[2] A link at the very top of the page leads to the e-mail of the "Kekma Crew."
