The game consists of a series of tests, each of which measures different aspects of the player's personality and mental state. The tests include a personality test, a Rorschach inkblot test, a memory test, and a spatial awareness test. The questions in each test are designed to be unsettling, and the player is asked to make choices that will determine the outcome of the game. The game's storyline revolves around the mysterious Watson-Scott Test, which is said to have been designed by a Dr. Watson and a Dr. Scott to test the limits of the human mind. The player is guided through the tests by an AI named The Program, which is said to be the product of a failed experiment that fused the consciousness of two researchers.

The main page of the site displayed a white background with some links to shock sites, including "Bagslap.com" and "Prolapsed.net". Sometime in 2007, a description was added to the main page which explained the whole purpose of the Meatspin network, which was to organize all of the shocking material available on the internet.

The creator of the website also wanted to make Meatspinnetwork a shock site sharing platform, where people would request a certain shock site to be made every month. The site also had links to official Meatspin social media in the "Social" section, such as YouTube("Meatspinvids"). Their Twitter and Reddit are named "meatspin.com."
