There was a video on the website that featured a Korean villager killing and cooking a cat. [[wikipedia:People_for_the_Ethical_Treatment_of_Animals|PETA]] saw this and decided to take action against the site, and sought a federal investigation, which did not happen. In 1999, a rumour had been going around that Stile himself had committed suicide live on webcam. However in 2012, this was proven false which Stile himself spoken up to.

Content

The Register referred to Stileproject.com as a "shock site" in a 2001 article.[4] The website assembled "vast visual libraries of any taboo or depravity that could be digitized."[5] In the early 2000s, as "the Web's leading repository of crude filth – probably the most reliable source of tastelessness in the history of the Internet,"[6] its content was criticized for its shock value. Particularly, a video showing a Korean villager killing, cooking, and eating a cat was highly publicized and denounced by PETA,[4][7] who sought a federal investigation, which did not occur.[8] Stile reportedly faked his own suicide live on webcam in 1999,[9] and he confirmed the hoax in 2012.[10]

Open-source software and porn were "memorialized in J.
