MugSeek was a bait-and-switch shock site created in 2007, it was made to trick users by acting as a search engine for mugshots and police records.

The main page provides an overview of mugshots as well as a fake login and some links to other sites on the left, such as Reverse Cell Phone, Missing Female Search, Missing Male Search, and Reverse IM Lookup, among others. The user must fill out a form (which can be completely empty) and after doing so, the page will redirect to a fake loading screen before displaying a list of 2 available "results".

Navigating to the first link (shot.php) leads to a fake mugshot preview page, a pixelated image of a woman can be seen before cutting to the same Flash featured on Thewillpower.org a few seconds later. Visiting the second link (address.php) leads to the same animation that was used in PhoneTrace.org. Both pages redirect to another page that says "Sorry as you can see our technology is a little buggy still" along with large, red hyperlinked text that says "Send this joke to a friend!".
