Removed.us is one of the oldest and still active shock sites made by an unknown person. It hosts multiple shock images such as Pillowfight, Tubgirl, and the gap.zip collection.
History
The site first showed up on October 14th, 2003 to show the contents "How you doin?". Later in 2004, it showed the removed.us logo (which was big black text saying "removed.us") with the caption "Coming soon! (not really)". Additionally, it also had text at the bottom reading "If you came here because you were 'hacked' by this machine, go away. You haven't been hacked. Email root@removed.us if you're positive that I've stolen your megahertz." Later that year, the small text at the bottom was removed and was replaced with "Email me!" with the previously mentioned email at the bottom.
On March 17th, 2005, it showed a broken visitor counter. The email was also replaced with the phone number "718-606-4100". Later in 2006, the site had the image showed in the infobox in this article with the caption "...keepin' it real in Ghana... (not really)", and the visitor counter was fixed, showing that over 24,000 people have visited the site. In 2011, a Google-powered search bar was put on the site. The phone number was removed aswell, and the caption was changed to "...our Ghanaian 419 scammer friends send their regards...". In 2018, the search bar was removed and the email was replaced with "Email us at web@removed.us", and currently remains in this state today.
