Do you ever plan on fixing the wiki?

It's been a while now and nothing has been fixed, how long will this be?

--Tankman fan 44 (talk) 04:13, 1 July 2022 (CEST)

Honestly, I don't ever have the time due to working 40+ hours a week. I do still fix or patch minor stuff and as I'm not sure I know of every bug on the wiki, I may make a JIRA. Lawiki1534 (talk) 03:10, 2 July 2022 (CEST)
completely understandable. The only bugs I have noticed are that I can't see the add to watchlist button and the hover previews dont work. There might be more but for now that's all I've managed to spot.

Delete this account

Please delete my old account and ill make myself a new one; and it will be named User:Nouxia. --SkyBlueCat (talk) 09:37, 7 July 2022 (CEST)

And also can i have a permission to edit articles? --Nouxia (talk) 09:48, 7 July 2022 (CEST)
You can't delete accounts on MediaWiki, but I did courtesy vanish you. Lawiki1534 (talk) 04:11, 8 July 2022 (CEST)

Why

Why did you delete my page I spend along time working on it

I didn't think it counted as a shock site. Lawiki1534 (talk) 03:57, 29 July 2022 (CEST)

I'm thinking of removing the featured poll

I see we have ran out of poll ideas and nobody cares about the polls anymore. I'm considering maybe replacing it with "Featured Media", that is, a video, image, or maybe even a news article related to content on this site. Thoughts? --Pmb1226 (talk) 23:29, 15 August 2022 (CEST)

Possibly, but polls do help engagement. Lawiki1534 (talk) 00:17, 16 August 2022 (CEST)

IP banning

What's with the ip bans? They only last for one day before it becomes available again? --Pmb1226 (talk)

That's the MediaWiki autoblock default. If you need to ban for longer, just CheckUser them and ban their ip separately. Angeleno (talk) 13:05, 18 August 2022 (PDT)

hazomo is a gigantic prick

recently this morning one of the screamer wiki discord members (pickadeli) came out saying that was being manipulated by fergi one of the members asked hazomo to ban fergi hazomo kept making fun of this situation and he did not take it seriously he ended up banning me, qx1. pickadeli and one more who i don't remember his name he also purged the main chat to get rid of the evidence unban us and ban this selfish motherfucker

Hazomo's been banned, you (and everyone else) has been unbanned. Angeleno (talk) 03:48, 10 September 2022 (MST)

Quick question

What does the japanese text on this logo say? --Pmb1226 (talk)

"Screamer Wiki" Angeleno (talk) 18:47, 17 October 2022 (MST)

Should visual editor be disabled?

It messes up the comments on pages and some new editors might not understand.

Tankman fan 44 (talk) 09:10, 4 November 2022 (MST)

Probably not. Angeleno (talk) 12:01, 4 November 2022 (MST)

Early revisions

How could Template:Bigcat be imported in 2011? Mediawiki glitch? --Pmb1226 (talk)

I think it's because the template was imported from wikipedia, so older edits appear. Angeleno (talk) 00:33, 5 November 2022 (MST)

Favicon request

Because this edited version with the color tint appears in the site logo, I feel it makes sense to have this version instead of the standard one we currently have. What do you think? --Pmb1226 (talk)

I changed it. We'll see how it looks. Angeleno (talk) 18:34, 5 November 2022 (MST)

Share feature

I was reading about ways to increase seo and web traffic and found that adding a share button increases the number of views on a page and overall traffic. There's a mediawiki extension here which allows a page to be easily shared to any social media via the sidebar. It says it's in development but its still worth a try + its very useful.

Also the favicon still remains the same even after it was changed, kinda strange --Pmb1226 (talk)

You can turn the extension off, I added the links somewhere else --Pmb1226 (talk)

External links

This site has many clickable external links to other sites (like wikipedia for example), but when they are clicked they open in the same tab instead of a new one, which lowers average page count and time spent on the site. Should we make it so that when an external link is clicked, it opens in a brand new tab so that screamer.wiki will still be open? --Pmb1226 (talk)

Yes Angeleno (talk) 20:19, 14 November 2022 (MST)
This setting might work if configued, but not sure: https://mediawiki.org/wiki/Snippets/Open_external_links_in_new_window
If it doesn't seem to work right I might make a mediawiki account and just ask there. --Pmb1226 (talk)
It seems to have worked. Angeleno (talk) 16:44, 15 November 2022 (MST)
Great! Just one thing is that the interwiki links (like wikipedia) still seem to open in the same tab, so maybe editing the interwiki page and adding some of the previous code might get it to work. --Pmb1226 (talk)

Goatse404

Do you have the goatse 404 image without the drawn hands? I can try to edit it better. --Pmb1226 (talk)
