Smb3free.cf was an online flash game built with the Hello Mario Engine plugin. It was developed by AnimatorXP, for the "Create your own screamer!" contest. The game itself pretends to be a free flash port of Super Mario Bros. 3.

The game uses the WASD keys to move and jump and has a single level, which naturally looks quite similar to those found in the actual SMB3. This one, however, contains sections, enemies, and powerups that could look very advanced for a first level.

After Mario gets past a huge pool of water, he reaches a part of the level where there are wooden pillars sticking up from a pitfall, with Red Koopas standing on top of them. Not long after getting close to the pitfall, when the player dies, a flashing picture of Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist appears with a loud scream. But it is possible for you to go to the end where the random item is going to be where you can receive a mushroom, or a flower, or a star, but when you jump on that item, Regan MacNeil will appear with a loud scream too.

The game was taken down along with the entire AnimatorXP.com site and the screamer will remain lost, though the animation was archived, but it is no longer playable.
