Internet Explorer.exe was the first screamer game in the form of a shock site created and published by MattTheGameMaker on Game Jolt in 2015.

Below the screamer, the site features a link titled "Don't Look for Wally Mirror → Click here,"  (「ウォーリーを探さないで」ミラー→こちら) which lures them to a second message: "Don't look for Wally; BGM will be playing, so please turn on the sound and enjoy♪" (ウォーリーを探さないで BGMが流れるので音を出してお楽しみください♪) Despite this premise, investigating the source code reveals no actual audio file; leaving it to be just a static blank page, but though seriously, assuming it could be simply just a Circus theme which plays matches to the similar theme and tune of amusement parks, like the one found from SuperLaugh version.
Gameplay
The game opens to an Internet Explorer homepage from 2015. The moment the player tries to type into the fake search bar, an image of a decomposing, diseased cow pops onto the screen. Below it are images of self-harm, such as wrist cutting, alongside other images that reference or imply it. A loud, clipping noise begins playing in the background. As the sound abruptly cuts out, ominous red text flashes: "SO..." followed quickly by another message above it: "I HEARD YOU LIKE RESEARCHING!" Before the player can react, a color-inverted image of an 9/11 jumper's corpse rapidly strobe-flashes on the screen. Eventually, a distorted humanoid arm lunges forward, shattering the glass before the screen dissolves into white noise, abruptly ending the game.

Although the game was originally uploaded to Newgrounds two months prior, it is often misattributed to this obscure link office-will.com and most Japanese users would just simply visit there without notice; which might indirectly suggested the hypothesis that Where's Waldo is one of the most popular screamers in early internet Japanese community.

Internet Explorer 2.exe served as a sequel to Internet Explorer.exe, but its release date remains unknown. Instead of opening straight to the search engine, the program initially displays a mock-up of a Microsoft Windows desktop. It presents a crudely drawn landscape over an Internet Explorer icon. Clicking the browser reveals a homepage with news websites and stock images cut off from the first game.
This link redirects to Kikia from the German flash collection dopey.de instead of Netspooky's main website, where it was captioned: "Turn it up LOAAUUUUT, only then will it be cool - really!"

The site's directory also hosted numerous files such as whatswrong.swf, sajjadali.swf, and illusion.swf (a variant of Focus), all of which are immediate giveaways that these are already existing screamers.
Once a search query is entered, the results page loads, showing a search input for "yourself" alongside matching images. After a short while, two red, rotating disks resembling eyes appear, accompanied by a loud scream. The screen cuts to black briefly before displaying a gruesome image of a person lying down with a disfigured face, revealing the inside of their head (similar to Cherrycake.org). Finally, the screen cuts to black once more, flashing the person's screen name colored in red as the program deletes itself from the desktop and ends the game.

Internet Explorer.exe was the first screamer game in the form of a shock site created and published by MattTheGameMaker on Game Jolt in 2015.

Gameplay

The low quality homepage

Internet Explorer 2.exe

An icon design for Internet Explorer 2.exe.

Hiatus.exe

Opening screen of Hiatus.exe.

Hiatus.exe was a continuation of shock site-related games similar to Internet Explorer.exe.

Hiatus.exe features a play button and black screen text reading:

"Sorry for being on hiatus for quite a while... School has been getting in my way. Lots of stuff [sic] have been getting in my way."

Another line of text above the play button reads:

"This is a big game... With a loading screen!"

After clicking the play button, the screen changes into a loading screen. After a few seconds of "loading", it opens a web browser and redirects the user to the original webpage of Anne.jpg. A short time later, another website opens, linking the user to a Photobucket page from a user named Hypercomp01, featuring an image collection of people in vehicle accidents.[1]

Trivia

 • Contrary to popular belief, the homepage for Internet Explorer.exe is actually believed to be from Microsoft Edge.
 • MattTheGameMaker created and released most of his games featuring gore and pornography, but a few years later, he deleted them (along with Internet Explorer and its sequel) out of remorse.
 • Due to a coding error in Internet Explorer 2.exe, an Apple logo suddenly flashes a split second after clicking the icon.
