The Pain Series: Difference between revisions

The Pain Series was created by user Huge_Midget on the [[wikipedia:Something_Awful|Something Awful]] [[wikipedia:Internet_forum|internet forums]] in 2003. Users on Something Awful often used the Pain Series as a prank, or used it when someone leeched.<ref>Leeching on [[wikipedia:Something_Awful|Something Awful]] refers to directly posting an image without linking to the original site or asking the webmaster's permission.</ref> The original image set, consisting of Pain.jpg, Pain2.jpg, Pain3,jpg, Pain4.jpg, Pain5.jpg, Untitled.jpg, and awesome.jpg, was originally hosted on crazyninjas.org/kittens. However, the website was shut down, likely due to violating the host provider's terms of service.

Pages that use Template:Pain on Encyclopedia Dramatica include "Puppies", "Contesting Your Ban", and several user pages<ref>Many banned user pages on Encyclopedia Dramatica are vandalized with Template:Pain. The default banned template encourages users to vandalize the pages of banned users with Template:Pain, as seen in the infobox image.</ref> and talk pages. Multiple articles on the site also include links to pages containing the template.
