Samara Morgan/Sadako Yamamura is the main antagonist of the 1991 horror novel "Ring". In 1998, the film based on the novel was made, and the film became massively popular and had many sequels, and even a remake for western audiences in 2002 named "The Ring" in which the character was renamed to "Samara Morgan".
