when they make bad decisions in a horror movie is a sketch comedy YouTube short created by Jake Rasmussen on June 16th, 2026. This video contains a screamer.

This video features two characters, one named Craig, and another unnamed character watching the fictional movie in which Craig is in. The video is a back-and-forth conversation with the unnamed viewer and Craig up until the 23 second mark, in which the viewer notes a "riser sound effect." Once the sound reaches its climax, Craig notes that the sound stopped and nothing scary occured, which causes the viewer to alert Craig of a possible jumpscare, and tells Craig to duck to avoid it. After this warning, Craig ducks to avoid the upcoming jumpscare. Once Craig is fully off-screen, a ghoulish image of a straw-like humanoid figure appears, startling the unnamed viewer. The viewer also remarks how cheap the screamer was, saying "I can't believe I fell for that."

At the tail end of the video, the same humanoid figure attacks Craig. After the figure attacks Craig, the credits of the fictional horror film roll. Craig's "character name" is called "man who gets trapped in attic and dies in a great deal of pain:" implying that he was killed by the figure off-screen.
