Escape from the Coolsonian
Escape from the Coolsonian, also known as Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed: Escape from the Coolsonian, is a point-and-click adventure flash game that was made as a promotional tie-in for the 2004 live-action movie Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. Originally posted on the official movie website in 2004, the game spread to other flash websites.
Gameplay
In the game, the player assumes the role of Scooby-Doo, who is trapped in the "Coolsonian Museum". To escape, the player must navigate through three exhibits while solving various difficult puzzles. These exhibits are titled "Hall of the Great Beyond", "The Mummy Archives", and "Zombies through the ages". In Exhibit 2, the player must find a way to make the coffin in the middle of the level descend into the ground to reveal a staircase leading to the next level.
During this exhibit, players can find a crowbar that they assume can help them find or solve clues to escape. However, using the crowbar on the sarcophagus results in a dark screen of hieroglyphics, with vague and creepy whispering in the background. The text slowly fades in, saying "Please, haven't much time. Someone coming, Need help before". As the last word fades in, an image of a skull/mummy with yellow eyes flashes on the screen accompanied by a loud scream, which is very realistic and unexpected in the context of the game.
