New Discord Screamer is a screamer video uploaded to YouTube by Screamer United on June 19th, 2022.
The first second of the video shows low-quality footage of a black man in a jacket about to scream. As soon as he does, the video freezes, and his eyes and mouth grow overly large as the contrast increases, while a heavily distorted variant of the AOL dial-up sound effect plays for seven more seconds.
On the instant messaging platform Discord, the audio can also bypass the volume slider, meaning it will remain loud even if it is adjusted. YouTube mirrors are quieter due to the platform automatically limiting the volume of each of the videos. As of March 7th, 2023, the video will no longer play if the Discord link is shared on the platform, indicating that it has patched the volume exploit.
