1 Boy 2 Kittens, also known as 1 Lunatic 2 Kittens, is a shock video created by Luka Magnotta (who would later become infamous for making 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick) in which he suffocates and kills two kittens. The video begins with two live kittens sitting on a bed, which he brought from a pet store, while the song Happy Xmas (War is Over) plays in the background. After petting the kittens, he puts them into a vacuum bag and starts vacuuming the air out of it. Magnotta then turns the vacuum off to show the kittens meowing their last meow; they then die afterward of asphyxiation. He takes the dead kittens out of the bag and starts to play with them. Magnotta continued to upload photos and videos of himself playing and doing sexual acts with the kittens.

1 Boy 2 Kittens was followed by another video depicting a kitten being fed to a python by Magnotta. Again, another video surfaced in which Magnotta drowns a cat to death in his bathtub. All three videos were uploaded to YouTube (from 2010 to 2011 respectively) using different accounts created by Magnotta himself. These videos were made prior to Magnotta murdering and recording the death of a man named Jun Lin, who he lured via Craiglist, as a sick way of achieving fame.

The hunt for the killer

After the video was released, groups of viewers started to investigate the incident and find the identity of the killer, who was still unknown at the time. A Facebook group was created with plenty of people compiling evidence to find who the supposed killer was. Users also started posting videos to YouTube both theorizing[1] who the killer was and recruiting people to help. Once 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick was released, in which Magnotta murders Canadian student Jun Lin who was born in Wuhan, China, the killer was found to be Luka Rocco Magnotta.[2]

In popular culture

On December 4, 2019, a trailer dropped for a Netflix documentary titled Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer. The Netflix series retells, with users from the Facebook group, the whole story of 1 Boy 2 Kittens and 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick, and the group's hunt to find out who the culprit was. This documentary also brought a resurgence of popularity to this shock video.[3] The film released on December 18, 2019.[4]

On December 31, 2019, Luka Magnotta's alleged Twitter account was hacked; this user proceeded to release information tied to the account. Later on, the user used the account to post Antifascist content.[5]
