Little Dancing Girl was a screamer video that has been circulating on the Internet since 2008. It was uploaded by YouTube user shortavi, for the first time on the site who has seemingly removed the video from his channel since,
It starts by showing a small room with a TV with static to the right. Then, a young girl wearing a beige dress and black beanie opens the door and enters the hallway from a dark room. She then starts dancing to the relaxing and elegant piano music ballerina-style. After a few seconds, when the girl exits the view and into the kitchen, a demonic red girl covered in what looks like blood and melted flesh with glowing white and green eyes pops up and screams at the camera in a very distorted way.
Trivia
- The scream sound effect is used from "Screams 7; Woman, Three Screams, Exterior Close Perspective." from The Hollywood Edge's The Premiere Edition Volume 1 sample library, albeit over-saturated and with added synthesized ripple sounds as well.
- Mary Wilson, the adoptive mother who did the screamer, had apparently had some burns when taking a shower after taking off her makeup, and could not go to work for a couple of days due to the level of severe burning. This may have been the reason for her appearance in the video.
- The TV static was apparently unintentional when they filmed this, according to Mary.
- The original idea involved Vanessa Silverstein, the dancer in the video, falling over before the screamer came. This was later scrapped as it would have been too obvious.
- The video was filmed very early in the morning, and Vanessa had a hard time staying up when doing it. She had to dance all over the place in between takes in order to stay up.
- It took over 3 takes to get the screamer right for Mary, and 10 takes to get the dancing scene with Vanessa right. This explains the fact that the jumpscare and the dancing are actually separate scenes (Indicated by the visible cuts when it comes).
- Vanessa had nightmares after she saw her mom in the video scaring the viewer when she watched it for the first time after production, and was slightly afraid of her own mother for a week.
- This video was recorded in Arkansas, USA, and it was supposed to be an advertisement for a local ballet club, but they had rejected it due to the scary nature. The original idea for a commercial was likely inspired by the K-Fee commercials.
