Fortniteburger.net was a shock site that refers the user to a Rule 34 image of Ralph, the titular character of the 2012 Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph. The site gained online notoriety in September 2019.
Origin
On December 20th, 2018, an unknown user registered the FortniteBurger.net domain, but at an unknown date before September 16th, 2019, it was later changed to feature an imgbb. com-hosted Rule 34 image of Ralph based on promo art for the film, with Ralph edited to have a large erect penis. The name of the site is inspired by the "Fortnite Burger", which, as indicated by the name and author of the edited image, is currently unconfirmed and is a burger from Fortnite.
The site did not gain online notoriety before September 2019. Starting on September 16th, a series of posts baiting users into visiting the site was posted on the /r/okbuddyretard subreddit and on Instagram, with the earliest known post made by Redditor Radiation69[1][2].
Spread
In the following days, more posts hoaxing users to go to the site were posted on Reddit, Instagram, and Twitter.
For example, a post by a Twitter user named SourceLocator made on September 21st, 2019, received over 340 retweets and 1,400 likes[3]. A September 23rd post by a Twitter user named datonestarfox2 received over 80 retweets and 490 likes[4]. The image on the website was briefly changed to a photograph of a proposal. The photograph was changed back to a more cropped version of the Rule 34 Ralph image before October 16, 2019.
As of 2020, the image of the website changed to the Rule 34 Ralph image with a face mask due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Imgur eventually deleted the image, leading to a 404 error.
