New Years Ball Drop 2008 is a screamer video uploaded to YouTube by The Nights of Leewac, or also known as tnol, on January 1, 2008. As of 2023, the video has gained over 74K views.

The video starts with the Fox broadcast of the 2008 New Year celebration in Times Square, with 1 minute and 7 seconds left of 2007. It then shows a wishing wall, where people around the world write down wishes on pieces of confetti. And then the drop begins. A 6-foot time ball weighing 1,070 pounds (490 kg), incorporated a total of over 600 halogen bulbs, 504 triangle-shaped crystal panels provided by Waterford, 96 strobe lights, and spinning, pyramid-shaped mirrors, is quickly decending down a 77-foot flagpole in 60 seconds. The ball then starts flashing ten times, and then a 7-foot lighted sign reading "2008", abruptly turns on, while multiple fireworks launch after in the background.

When 2008 arrives, a flashing yellow text reading "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" appears in the foreground. Things seem innocent enough, but at the 1:24 point, a loud, distorted clip of a man wearing a black shirt with a skull and a black jacket, in a forest, jumps up, and screams at the camera. Afterwards, the video ends with fast rolling credits, all in red text. The credits read: Happy New Year from TNOL - Mike Odel - Zac Hefner - Mike brazack - Brennen - MaTT Guiesepetii - Ryan Jessen

This video has received a lot of criticism, but unlike most early YouTube screamers that received criticism, this video has unsurprisingly never been deleted considering that the video was made in 2008.
