Southwark Council - Sunday Lunch also simply known as Sunday Lunch, is an public information film released in 2006, Directed by Steve Reeves, and published on YouTube by The Hall of Advertisng. The PIF is about discussing gun crime instead of keeping quiet about it. The PIF was rated 15 (though, it only appeared before 18-rated movies abd contains such shocking content). The PIF has become infamous for its shock factor and graphic nature, though it can be hard for some audiences to understand what's being said in the PIF, due to the family's language, hence why the infamous part probably felt more shocking than if they knew what the family was discussing

The Video

A family gets ready for a special lunch only held on Sunday. All of the family members sit down and talk about their day and what they'll be doing tomorrow. Once settled down at the table, one of the men offers to pick up the kids from school, which the mother agrees with. In response one of the men suggests it may not be a good idea, leading to the next turn of events.

The adult men start to discuss a shooting that happened involving one of their mates, and possible retaliation. There is implicated gang violence being discussed, and they joke about an unseen friend Anton “flobbing the shot” during that precious event, which could mean he has problems with accuracy. The men say it’s a good thing that Anton probably won’t be coming with them for the possible retaliation they have planned for this shooting. The conversation ends with one of the men saying it’s best for the kids staying indoors while the “beef stays outside.”

All the while this conversation is happening, the mother stays silent and reaches for a pistol she kept hiding in a top shelf. Only one man is able to notice the mother aiming the gun before it’s too late, the mother suddenly shooting the youngest son, blood spraying all over the table and walls and the son falling limp. The family is struck into shocked silence, only able to slowly process what just happened in growing horror. One of the men vomits from disgust and horror as the mother collapses, drops the pistol and begins to sob and wail despite what she had just done. The screen fades to black, revealing the text, "If you keep quiet about gun crime, it's like pulling the trigger yourself." The Crimestoppers phone number then fades in.
