The Castle Cat series is a well-known collection of platformer games created by the late Felix Wiesner, also known as Wiesi. It first emerged as a Flash game hosted on mausland.de in 2004. Wiesi is recognized for his creations of bizarre and, at times, even pornographic flash games. The series includes four distinct games, each with its own unique theme and challenges.

In these games, players take on the role of a cat character and must navigate various obstacles and adversaries to reach the end and defeat the boss. The objective is to accomplish this without losing any lives. The series has gained popularity over the years and can be readily found on various gaming websites.

Gameplay

The Castle Cat series consists of several platformer games where players control a cat character. In the first game, players are instructed to use arrow keys to move the cat and guide it up the castle by jumping over clouds. Enemies like Knights and Clowns are placed in the clouds, with contact with Knights resulting in losing life and contact with Clowns granting bonus points. A tornado can push the cat away. Players have nearly 2 minutes to reach the top. When the cat loses, a game over the screen shows Castle Cat with bandages, expressing disappointment.

The second game offers players more tools, providing a weapon to take down enemies. CTRL keys control the Cannon attack, the spacebar for the Mace attack, and the arrow keys for movement and jumping. The objective now shifts to the Sunny shores of Miami. Octopuses and cars become the new adversaries, culminating in a battle against a big crab. The time limit is extended to 4 minutes, and the game over the screen shows Castle Cat without severe injuries.

In the third game, a disturbing game over the screen appears, depicting a black garbage bag labeled "DEAD CAT." The fourth game's game over screen is even more unsettling, with a black and white photo of a woman holding a rotten, roadkilled cat and a bold yellow text stating "YOU ARE DEAD !!! PLAY AGAIN."

Despite the upcoming game called "Castle Cat 5" being announced over 9 years ago, the creator decided to abandon both the website and the game. However, there is a Castle Cat 5 which was W.I.P and is in HTML, confirming that Castle Cat 5 did start the process.

On November 16th, 2023, Newgrounds founder Tom Fulp announced that Felix Wiesner unfortunately passed away from health complications,[1] leaving Castle Cat 5 developments canceled.
