Tubgirl: Difference between revisions

Tubgirl is a shock image of an unknown origin, the earliest upload was on a Rotten.com post titled "Feco Japanese I Really Think So." posted on December 12th, 2000, it was speculated that it was first posted on other sites such as ConsumptionJunction.com, Stile Project, or Something Awful sometime in the very early 2000s.

The image depicts a woman, naked save for a strange mask and white stockings, lying in a small bathtub with her legs placed behind her head while a fountain of yellow-orange liquid (either enema or diarrhea) shoots out of her anus and onto her face. Due to the genitalia being censored, it was probably originally from Japan. The picture has many mirrors such as tubgirl.me and tubgirl.fr, which are used as a bait and switch, in which a user clicks on a misleading domain or link and gets redirected to the image. Tubgirl.me's image got changed to two images of fat women with penis in their belly button.

The image is notable for the general mystery surrounding its origin. It was obviously created sometime in the late 90s or around the year 2000 and is likely Japanese in origin due to the censorship of the woman’s genitalia. The Tubgirl.me site also features a second, nearly identical image where the woman is wearing black-and-red fishnets and a blindfold, with a much less directed flow of anal expulsion and a piece of paper with a crude drawing of a vulva on it in place of digital censorship.

According to the shock image database ShockChan, the image appeared on the entertainment/news blog Stile Project in 2001. On February 15th, 2002, the domain tubgirl.com was registered. The site used an IP address link to redirect to the image of tubgirl on a site called Redcoat.net. Tubgirl.com doesn't redirect because the IP Address link accidently redirects to web.archive.org instead of redcoat.net. However this can be easily fixed. On August 1st, 2005, Urban Dictionary user named Mike Oxlong submitted an entry for "tubgirl," which describes the photo in detail. On October 18th, 2007, the tubgirl image was featured on the front page of the gaming news site Kotaku as part of a prank by Gizmodo editor Brian Lam. That day, Kotaku issued an apology to readers who had seen the explicit image. On December 11th, a YouTuber Kat uploaded footage of herself mimicking the tubgirl pose on the floor of a dressing room. Within nine years, the video gained over 1.7 million views. On December 18th, a YouTuber AutomaticTLC uploaded a short reaction clip in which a young woman views the tubgirl image and says "is that poop? It's like water"
