Both games take place within the same mansion, but with added areas and some minor changes, so some items that resulted in a scare in the first game might be necessary to find an item or complete a puzzle in the sequel, and vice versa. Unlike the first game, ''Scary Scavenger Hunt 2'' contains a screamer at one point, which is found in the mansion's gallery. On the right is a painting of Garfield sleeping, and clicking it will zoom in on the picture, with instructions saying "Study this picture very closely" while the Heads-Up-Display claims that "There's an important clue hidden in this picture". After about 30 seconds, however, a cartoony demon face pops up very briefly on the screen accompanied by a loud roar, followed by text saying “GOTCHA! Click anywhere to go back”, while the HUD on the right will say “Just kidding!". | |||
