2020 in One TikTok was a Template:Rotten screamer created by Russian user artem_mokrushin on May 19, 2020.

The video starts with a man walking into a bedroom then turning the light off. Scary music then starts to play and the women sitting on the bed points to the hallway (to tell the man that there is something standing there). The man, in response, turns the light on, to which the figure disappears. The man turns the light off, which makes the figure (and scary music) re-appear again.

So the woman points to the hallway again. The man then double-checks by turning on the light a second time, which makes the figure disappear again. After the man turns the light off that second time, the figure runs to the camera with a scream.

Although the TikTok video had over 20 million views, the video made a resurgence when Twitter user @BenjaminBell reposted the video on October 21, 2020; this reupload garnered 7 million views, TikTok screamers like TW-Jumpscare started to spread and appear across the internet, mostly they were created by Russian and American users.
