'''Zippocat''' was a [[shock video]] published on July 22, 2005 to [[Ogrish.com]] that later became an internet meme. The video depicted a small gray kitten named Sonny being pet then held upside-down by a German/Belgian man. A few seconds after, the man would set the cat on fire with a zippo lighter and burn it alive while continuing to record. The video lasts 4 minutes and 12 seconds, and was promptly removed from Ogrish.com and gained an unknown number of views before deletion. The video was believed to have been lost until 2022, when a [[Screamer Wiki:About|Screamer Wiki]] user found a video download on Archive.ph. However, due to the legality of the video, the user chose to not share the video to the public.

== YTMND ==
On June 8, 2007, a page on [[YTMND]] was created titled "Zippo cat". The page contains an image displaying 15 still frames from the original video, showing the cat getting lit on fire. A text on the page reads "No, it's not alright ki", "No chapstick for you!". The page also plays [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSsfjHCFosw E1M1] (At Doom's Gate) in the background. Everything about the page, from the images to the music and the chapstick inside joke implies that the page was most likely made by some kid online with a weird sense of humor.

Many users 5'd (slang for rating something five stars) this page. On the comments of the page, a user called "Spotz" claimed "he 5'd" because of the soundtrack of the site, to which a user named "Gecko" replied with "Nothing justifies 5'ing burning kittens. Not even Doom music." Those four words at the end of the reply later became an internet meme.

== Creator's arrest ==
[[File:Zippocatthumbnail.png|thumb|right|300px|Thumbnail of the Zippocat video from Ogrish.com]]
The administrators of the Ogrish.com website tracked down the video's uploader and the actual killer of the cat, which took them only two days. The uploader was a 15-year-old Belgium male and the actual killer was a 26-year-old Belgium male, and both men were eventually arrested.<ref>https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/763506175874301984/1037491353522802768/unknown.png</ref>

== '''Editing Guide''' ==
This guide explains everything you need to know when creating or editing an article on the Screamer Wiki. This will be useful if you are new to the wiki.
#'''Begin with the name of the screamer and say what type of screamer it is, when it was created and who is the creator''' • ''The Maze is a Flash game created by Jeremy Winterrowd in 2004.''
#'''Describe the screamer with as much objective detail as possible''' • ''In this game, the player has to move their pointer through the blue maze without touching the black walls. There are three levels in total...''
#'''Add pictures to your article''' • This will make it more interesting and visually attractive. After all, one picture is worth a thousand words.
#'''Add links to other articles''' • This will engage the reader even further. Just a simple link can make a visitor come back for more!
#'''Add a ''non-clickable'' link to the screamer''' • While adding the link to your article, and make sure, unless necessary, to remove the ''<nowiki>http://www</nowiki>'' part. ''Example: winterrowd.com/maze.''
#'''When you are done writing, it is time to categorize your page''' • To learn how to categorize your article properly, keep on reading.

'''Wonder Woman 1984 Full Movie (Leaked)''' was a bait-and-switch [[YouTube]] and BitChute video created by Full Movies Free, which was run by [[User:Angeleno|Angeleno]], also known as Lawiki1534. The video is 153 minutes long, which is to matches the length of the actual movie.

The video starts with a notice that the person that leaked the video went into AMC's movie files and ripped the video (breaking the DRM too) to put it here. To continue with the format, the AMC theaters intro plays. Afterward, the Warner Bros, Ratpac, and DC comics intros from the first movie play. Right once the DC intro is about to end, [[Jeff the Killer]] appears along with the same scream from [[Anne.jpg]], but with the video slowed down to prevent seizures. After the screamer, a text asks the viewer not to pirate displays for the runtime of the movie.

The video was later taken down by [[YouTube]] for violating their terms of service. The BitChute mirror timed out in processing and was automatically deleted. However, a reupload of the video has been made.
}}
'''Womensalliance.xyz''' was a bait and switch [[shock site]] created on October 6, 2020 by [[User:Kekmaguy|Obok MeatGod]]. The site disguised itself as a feminist blogging community to lull people into entering.

The site itself was objectively the more repulsive sister site of [[Kekma.net]]. It took the facade of a women's blog site, and although the shock site lacked in popularity, it still generated angrier reactions compared to Kekma. Similar to Kekma, it was created due to the lack of shock sites in the modern internet era.

At first glance, the website seems uninspired, with a sketchy PNG plastered in the middle of the page. If the user doesn't heed the website's warning and still chooses to click the ENTER button, they would be swiftly redirected to the shocking portion of the website.

On the second of August, 2021, the company responsible for the .xyz top-level domain seized womensalliance.xyz. At the time of the site's death, it had acquired at least 152,856 views, the majority from Bangladesh, Taiwan, and India. It is unlikely to be rehosted by the original owners, and all files have been publicly released on Anonfiles.

==Content==
The website consists of two sections. The first section of the website welcomes the user to a mundane front page: blue background with a repetitive pattern consisting of the Venus symbol (♀) and a PNG of a silhouette of a woman with the caption "ENTER", followed up with "This website contains stories of female empowerment. Some of these stories may upset or offend sensitive users. This site is unsuitable for children! 18+ ONLY."

After clicking on the enter button, the site enters fullscreen mode and plays a video montage of women being tortured, mutilated, and killed while "Oh, Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison plays. The video also contains images and clips of extreme illnesses, including but not limited to breasts that have rotted and filled with pus due to cancer and severely maggot-infested vaginas.

===Malicious script===
The website uses the same scripts from [[Kekma.net]]. When the user attempts to exit the site, it will result in further full screening. Pressing a button on the keyboard opens up a fake prompt asking if the user wishes to leave. If 'OK' was pressed, a series of alert boxes containing misogynistic threats (actual lyrics from [[wikipedia:Devourment|Devourment]]) would open. The alerts read, in order: "You sluts, I'll show you all the way to everlasting pain and torture.", "To take your life is why I live, for your crimes you'll be butchered.", "You'll be forced to suffer through torture, you dead cum dumpster bitches.", and "I'll kill you all then throw your slaughtered asses in the ditches."

If the user tries to close the tab instead of clicking the Enter button, they will get a real dialog box that reads "Are you sure you want to leave?".

==Origin==
As [[Kekma.net]] gained an amount of popularity, the author himself (Obok) wanted to expand the Kekma subculture by creating another shock site. The website was originally planned to be a bait-and-switch website against [[Wikipedia:Black Lives Matter|Black Lives Matter]] called "brownaction". The website would have included borderline malware, but the website was changed to Womensalliance due to the original idea being infeasible for three reasons:
*The site relied heavily on browser exploits to function, or else it would only allow one popup per session
*Having malware on a website was a bad idea due to legal concerns
*The shock value wasn't deemed high enough
Suffice it to say, the remnants of brownaction were used as the foundation to create Womensalliance, and the site was officially launched on October 6, 2020.

Womensalliance.xyz has been spammed on numerous Discord communities and was banned by the owners of the bots, presumably due to said spam.<ref>https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/662487643979776088/767977832432533535/unknown.png</ref>
'''Winterrowd.com''' formerly '''Bloggits''' was a well-known website full of [[screamer]]s made by a man named [[Jeremy Winterrowd]]. There are games and videos designed to trick people to get scared, like [[The Maze]], [[Hit the Dot]], [[Optical Illusions]], [[Swearing Baby]], and more.

==Background==
The front page layout is similar to an old [[YouTube]] from 2007, the front page layout has blue headings, thumbnails, and some other sections that make the user scream like "scary" animations, games, and pictures there is a forum page, which complements the website.

Additionally, [[The Ultimate Maze|some]] [[Super Mario Bros.|of the]] screamers are not created by Jeremy himself, the people who made them contacted Winterrowd to advertise their game and credited themselves on the end portion of the screamer, however, in March 2020, the website was parked.

==History==
The website was registered in 2001<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20200325213240/https://whois.epik.com/winterrowd.com The release date] of the website</ref> During these early days, the website was used to host Winterrowd's resume<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20031216055240/https://www.winterrowd.com/ The 2003 archive] of Winterrowd.com</ref> and did not contain any screamers. In 2005, however, Jeremy Winterrowd decided to host [[The Maze]] and start a blog on the website; the blog posted both Winterrowd's new [[screamer]] creations as well as more personal topics such as Winterrowd crashing his Jeep. This continued until 2010 when Winterrowd removed the personal blog and changed the website into exclusively a screamer website, also known as "Winterrowd Solutions".

On April 1, 2014, Winterrowd's website was down for maintenance, leading him to announce that his website was crashed due to many people have visited the site (for [[screamers]]) for half an hour, it was then backed up a few hours later.

===Bloggits===
Bloggits was Winterrowd's second website, it was registered on April 13, which tended to be a platform for his games and animations, it was registered when he lives in Arizona, However, it was then redirected to his original website in November 2006 and removed all of the links that lead to Bloggits.

===Winterrowd Prank Contest===
Winterrowd also held a contest in that same year called the ''Winterrowd Prank Contest'', where you had to record the reactions of someone and upload them to the website and he would upload them to a channel named [https://www.youtube.com/user/prankcontest prankcontest]. The website was getting bigger and bigger every time there was a screamer uploaded, depending on how famous it was and how many reaction videos there ever were. The website was also very controversial, considering that it had many scary games and videos, but overall, it had an outstanding reputation, and it can be considered the father of all screamers, it was announced on its website in April 2007.<ref>[http://web.archive.org/web/20070406172347/http://www.winterrowd.com/ The announcement] of the contest.</ref>

===Popularity===
The website was featured in ''[[wikipedia:America's Funniest Home Videos|America's Funniest Home Videos]]'', ''[[wikipedia:The Soup|The Soup]]'', ''[[wikipedia:Web Junk 20|Web Junk 20]]'', and MSNBC's Countdown.
'''Windows XP Horror Edition''' is a [[screamer]] application created by a user WobbyChip, and was first given to Siam Alam to showcase and popularize the virus.

==Payload==
Upon launch, the virus installs a false update for Windows XP, and plays the Windows XP installation music in the background. When the "update" is 66% complete, the music stops, and an error message appears on the screen, saying "Setup cannot copy the file ntdll.dll, Setup will use the file 666.sys." The music is replaced with a creepy chime soundtrack, the background turns red, and the Windows XP logo changes to an eye along with "Don't Look Behind You." When the "update" is 100% complete, the screen then shows what appears to be glitchy static, before turning black. The cursor is still visible.

The screen stays black briefly, before showing a false Windows XP startup animation all in red, and with a skull in the logo.

The red background reappears, along with an eye next to the word "welcome." Logging in to Windows XP Horror Edition greets the user with a desktop wallpaper full of skulls, a red taskbar with the Start button labeled "DEAD," and four icons labeled, "My Computer," "NOTHING," "DON'T OPEN ME.txt" and "Recycle Bin." The background changes to creepy pictures and glitchy effects at certain points. Thresh's Theme from League of Legends plays in the background.'<ref><nowiki>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WyH5E8Xs0c</nowiki> - Thresh, the Chain Warden | Login Screen - League of Legends</ref>

Clicking the "DEAD" button opens the Start menu but in red and with "666" on the top bar. Clicking on the programs within the Start menu causes them to disappear. Clicking the icon on the top bar greets the user with a wooden door. After a few moments the door opens, along with a loud squeak sound. The user is jumpscared by Lisa from the Silent Hills demo, ''P. T'' (same character but not a screamer face from [[Micromachines.net23.net]]), along with the loud scream from [[The Maze]], before then being greeted with "GO TO SLEEP" written in blood on the screen.

Opening the "DON'T OPEN ME.txt" file opens a Notepad window with, "CONGRATULATION YOU OPENED ME, DO YOU WANNA PLAY A GAME, OKEY THEN LOOK BEHIND YOU." The screen then changes to a jumpscare from the videogame Granny with a very loud screech, and then displays "Game Over." The Notepad icon then twitches and can't be opened again.

Opening "NOTHING" greets the user with a video known as The Sad Man, by the animator Jake Lava.<ref><nowiki>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqXbz4kIWGE</nowiki> - The Sad Man, by Jake Lava</ref>

At certain points, the background changes to a Half-Life 3 wallpaper, with a trollface version of Bill Gates head, but it is also possible to change to the "Sake of Windows XP" or other horror images. After a few error messages, the Nope.avi sound is played, before switching back to the desktop.

Opening the "My Computer" icon displays a message saying "DO YOU SERIOUSLY WANT TO TRASH YOUR COMPUTER FOREVER?" Clicking Yes will cause the My Computer icon to move to the Recycle Bin icon. The screen then turns black, before showing a Phantom BB jumpscare from FNaF 3, playing the FNaF 1 scream, then showing a false BSOD which says "The problem seems to be caused by the following file 666.sys." The messages appear line by line several times, before the computer shows a real BSOD, and then reboots.

The last payload of the malware overwrites the MBR upon the next boot, and then displays an eye, along with "I'M WATCHING YOU" on the bottom.

Stopping it through Task Manager is impossible, as the malware disables its use upon launch.

To fix the overwritten MBR, run the Windows setup loader on the installation media, access the Command Prompt through Repair Your Computer, and then type the following commands: "bootrec /fixboot, bootrec /fixmbr"
The MBR can also be fixed through NeoSmart's Easy Recovery Essentials, a recovery/diagnostic tool that can be used to restore non-functioning computers.

There is also a Peaceful version of the application, with only two differences; after the Phantom BB jumpscare from FNAF 3 followed by a false BSOD that repeats the same line, the application just closes, instead of actually crashing the computer with a real BSOD, and pressing either ALT + F4 or CTRL + ALT + DEL closes the application.
'''What's Wrong With This Picture?''', also called '''What's Wrong?''' or '''What's wrong with this image?''' is an infamous internet [[screamer]] created by Jaybill McCarthy, originally posted to his personal website "Jaybill" in February 2002.<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20020815165932/http://www.jaybill.com/article.php?articleID=66</ref> Many copies have since appeared on the internet, and is an example of an early e-mail chain-letter prank.
==Content==
The animation disguises itself as a normal stock photo of a dining room; depicting an open window, table, chairs, paintings, and flowers. The viewer is then asked to find something wrong with it, however, there are no actual errors in the picture itself. After about 30 seconds the screen cuts to a grainy black and white closeup of an eyeless woman with a wide mouth putting her hands around the sides of her face with her pinky fingers raised, accompanied by audio of Mrs. Mae Kilgore (from the 1957 film ''[[wikipedia:From Hell It Came|From Hell It Came]]'', played by [[wikipedia:Linda Watkins|Linda Watkins]]) screaming, albeit muffled, distorted and echoing. The animation repeats afterward,

The [[screamer]] face itself originates from gettyimages,<ref>https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/photo/young-woman-screaming-close-up-royalty-free-image/BD4381-001</ref> and was created by photographer 'Gandee Vasan' in 1998 as a stock photo inspired by ''The Scream'' painting by Edvard Munch. This stock image was also used (albeit heavily edited) for the cover of the 2001 film "Maniacts."

Jaybill himself is the one who doctored the stock photo into its now ''infamous'' form we know today, starting with this screamer and then the ones succeeding it.<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20020716184225/http://www.jaybill.com/article.php?articleID=57</ref>

==Impact==
{{See Also|Reaction videos}}
The animation has been reuploaded on multiple websites including [[YouTube]], where it has gained many views. The screamer has also been featured on ''[[America's Funniest Home Videos]]'' (used there as a substitute screamer in place of Regan MacNeil in [[The Maze]]) numerous times. Screamers of this kind became more and more popular as they began to circulate on the Internet. A few more examples of this are [[What's wrong with this picture?]], [[Zoeken]], [[Forest-wmv]] and [[Basement Ghost]].

The screamer gained so much traction in its day, that it actually managed to land a spot in the New York Times on April 22, 2002. The article hosts a small interview with Jaybill, who describes both his website and the screamer which was made "exclusively for the purpose of scaring my girlfriend''."''<ref>"[https://www.nytimes.com/2002/04/22/business/compressed-data-why-is-this-room-so-popular-shh-you-re-about-to-find-out.html?searchResultPosition=1]"</ref>

Interestingly enough, the very *first* screamer [[reaction video]] on the internet may have originated alongside this screamer. In mid-2002, Jaybill posted an article on his website in regards to a video sent to him from a subject reacting to this screamer. The subject/victim of the video is named "Jose."<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20020609151218/http://jaybill.com/article.php?articleID=94</ref>
|date = April 2008
}}
'''Walk the Dinosaur''' was a [[shock site]] created and hosted by [[LOLShock]], available from April 2008 until the first half of 2022. This one, alongside the complete series created by LOLShock during its existence, has been parked ending with almost 14 years of service.

==History==
The website, according to its first entry made by the organization Alexa Crawls, was registered during the fourth month of 2008 and at least existed since Monday, 21 April of that year; since that date, the Internet Archive technologies have registered 192 times the domain, being the last entry made on Friday, 21 January 2022, but the website was parked or removed a while after this previous register.

=== 2008 history ===
On April 21, 2008, the website consisted of two centered text boxes backed up by a bottom with repetitive patterns of a Brachiosaurus-like silhouette accompanied by two dark-colored hearts (each one on both sides of the creature), two pink-colored lightning bolts, and the onomatopoeia "rawr" (also pink-colored). With respect to the contents displayed on the text boxes, from the upper one to the downer one: We found the words Walk the Dinosaur that heads the main Macromedia Flash archive featured simply as dino.swf, a low-resolution animation of two dinosaurs having sex in the 69 positions, while the song [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgiDcJi534Y Walk The Dinosaur] by Was (Not Was) plays (which is actually played in several movies like the Yabba-Dabba-disaster film ''[[wikipedia:The Flintstones (film)|The Flintstones]]'' and ''[[wikipedia:Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs|Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs]]''). The text walkthedinosaur.com is displayed on the lower left side of the animation; in the second box, we found a list of another 5 shock sites created by the developer of LOLShock back then, headed by the caption "Other High Quality Sites".

=== 2008-2009 history ===
Between these years, 20 snapshots were taken (omitting the first one), having some of them a slight change in the characterization of outer links. From Wednesday, June 4, 2008, to Friday, September 25, 2009, the website displayed the same contents described in the first part, with the distinctive feature of the insertion of the first announcement ("SITE NEWS: My buddy from college is a pervert and just started the YouTube of porn!" quoting directly part of the text disposed of, the site later identified as teentube4free.com) and the self-announcement of other contents created back then ("OR - YOU WANT MORE SHOCK?!? - LOLSHOCK Shock Sites! - The total list of shock sites!" quoting directly the content) on the downer text box. The caption "Other High Quality Sites" as well as the list of initial shock sites was suppressed, and the text box border has been duplicated.

===2009-2010 history ===
Between Wednesday, November 25, 2009, and Thursday, May 27, 2010, 17 snapshots with the same integrity of contents were taken by Alexa Crawlers.

As well as the previous content revisions did during part of 2008 and 2009, walkthedinosaur.com didn't present notable changes at all, but in this time interval, another advertising space was added in the inner part of the webpage (separated from the main text boxes), publicizing the currently active dating website Fling.com. Little pop-up windows generated by the advertising contents for Fling.com were also added, simulating a notification from old messenger services.

=== 2010 changes history ===
Unlike the last three parts, in 2010, a few less-important changes were made to the website, with the total conservation of the main elements (e.g. the original dino.swf archive and the referential bottom patterns shown since the first entry), the suppression of the advertising tools used for Fling.com and the short-time addition of advertising space on the downer part of the general text box (sharing space with the teentube4free.com advert), used for the currently extinct link generator HTSTI.com (quoting the heading text: "How To Answer Noob Questions (Very Lulz)"). There are 4 snapshots that registered these changes, developed between Friday, June 11, and Thursday, July 22, 2010, being the first capture that kept the website's original esthetics after 2008.

=== 2011 changes history ===
Between Wednesday, February 2, and Monday, December 5, 2011, 16 snapshots with almost the same integrity of contents were taken by Alexa Crawlers.

As well as the previous content revisions have done during part of 2008 and 2009, there were changes to self-advertising announcements for LOLShock and outer contents. According to the entry made on Wednesday, February 2, walkthedinosaur.com was still using the same interface (same background patterns, same text boxes distribution, the usage of dino.swf, disposal of the advertising space and self-announcement space for other LOLShock creations), having the downer textbox (tighten up with an inner box and an outer box) a hierarchic-like structure, using an inner box to contain advertising content for the currently defunct websites babesfree.org and in.teenxxxmag.com, used in replacement of former teentube4free.com adverts (keeping the same structure) and for the quoted self-announcement text. The outer box was used to contain the HTSTI.com advert. Below the rectangular space used to dispose of the main Flash animation in the upper box, a Facebook sharing button (an unregistered outer function on Wayback Machine) and another Facebook plugin (with incomplete elements turning invisible for the browser) were inserted to diffuse the mentioned website.

During the next 15 entries done between Wednesday, June 15, and Monday, December 5, some less-important changes were made, changing the advertising contents but keeping the original inner elements of the website. The two-part general textbox was suppressed, using only one space that contains the next mentioned elements (listed from top to bottom): A box used for the currently active adult ad network JuicyAds (juicyads.com), the original dino.swf, Facebook sharing plugins (adding a Twitter plugin on the last two 2011 entries) and another self-announcement text used for LOLShock in replacement of the former one, simply featured as "Go here for more -->SHOCK SITES". On the other hand, a separate paragraph that announces the mentioned babesfree.org and in.teenxxxmag.com displays at the bottom of the site, changing the structure of the former advertising text: "HELP: My buddy from college has started a free Porn Youtube site!", quoting directly part of the text disposed of. At the top of the site, another advertising space is disposed of for JuicyAds.

'''Useful Reminder''' is a GIF [[screamer]] which spread across QZone (a Chinese social platform). It has a very similar concept to [[How to tell if a video is a screamer]].

Once played, it first shows some Chinese text on a white background stating that tells the viewer not to open media of an unknown origin as it might contain [[screamers]]. However, after 6 seconds, the image changes to a scary woman staring at the viewer for 2 seconds. After that, the GIF starts over. As it's an animated image, there is no sound at all, thus no scream.

"Do not click on videos in QZone unprepared, especially those only several seconds in length. There is a high probability that they will pop out a ghost with scream. Also you should be aware of those GIFs and long pictures of chat history as they might contain the same prank. Being shocked at midnight, not only you may not hold your cellphone steadily enough to not drop it, but also even have a heart attack to death. What's more, these idiots who have been scared by these things and decided to spread them to their contacts are also stupid. You'd better go to bed early, as staying up late harms your health too."

'''Upgrade Complete 3mium''' is the third and currently last game in the ''Upgrade Complete'' series. Much like in the first two games, the ultimate goal is to purchase every available upgrade, which yet again involves earning in-game coins by playing a simple shoot-em-up. While the first two titles featured a classic 2-D sidescrolling space shooter, this version instead has the player control a spaceship to defend a stationary base that harvests "precious whale oil" against recurring waves of enemies that get progressively harder to defeat.

As the "3mium" tag implies, it is supposed to be a parody of modern "pay to win" games. Upon starting the game, it already assumes that the player has bought the "premium version" with all upgrades unlocked, inviting them to push a button to beat the game. This leads the player to a fake PayPal screen (actually a link to the Armor Games homepage), and closing it will cause the game to immediately revoke all upgrades, challenging the player to earn them from scratch, like in the previous two games.

==Heartrate Upgrade==
[[File:Upgcw.png|thumb|220x220px|The warning before unlocking the upgrade.]]
Just like the [[Upgrade Complete II|second game in the series]], this version features a screamer in the form of a "Heartrate" upgrade, which comes in three different steps this time, the first two of which being intentionally non-scary. Upon attempting to unlock the first Heartrate upgrade, the game first displays a warning message, reading: "Warning Time! The 'Heartrate' upgrade features a 'jump scare'. It's teeeeerifying! It may not be good for weak hearts! Only upgrade this feature if you understand that it may be horrific!"

Unlocking the first Heartrate upgrade, however, only causes a deliberately crude drawing of a cheesy bedsheet ghost to pop up and move around, while a normal voice says: "Whoooaah! I'm a scary ghost! Wooooo!".

After unlocking the second upgrade, a photo of the creator of the said game with bad MS Paint scribbles to make him look like some sort of specter appears, complete with scribbled red text saying "Oooh!", "So Scary!" and "Genuine Terror!", while the same voice says: "Wooo! I'm even scarier! Whooooaaah!".

Then, after unlocking the third and final heart rate upgrade, the regular "Upgrade Complete" logo pops up and gameplay returns to normal, leading the player to believe that the entire heartrate upgrade was just a joke this time, and possibly a parody of the same feature from the [[Upgrade Complete II|second game]]. However, after about 20 seconds, when the player has most likely gone back to playing the regular game already, a blurry picture of what appears to be a child with beady black eyes pops up across the screen with a scream, If the player has not yet unlocked the game's audio through an upgrade at this point, none of the three jumps scares, including the third, genuine screamer will play any sounds.
'''Untitled.exe''' is a [[screamer]] game created with [[Scratch]] in 2017, by a user Certast, this also inspires the Scratch project [[Certast|with the same name]].

To begin with, a yellowish character with bunny ears, named Certast is standing on a peaceful hill, while being warned to not touch him, (though as part of the game), Once clicked, he will give a "Hello!" message, with the text above was replaced with "He came", for one second, the world turns dark, and red, with Certast's eye turning red, the game then stays on white for 2 minutes until Certast's face would appear.

The player can continue, by pressing the "Quit" button in the top right corner, with Certast saying "What's happening?", the player can now contact, Once "Nothing" is typed in, he will give a response: "ohh..." followed by "Have a nice day", if "you are evil" is typed in, he will turn sad and responded with: "what do you mean?", Once "you are evil right?" he will say "how dear you?!" is typed in, he will respond with "how dear you?!", if "You are So cute, that's the thing i mean" was the input, he will give the answer "ok?" and "Have nice day", the game ends here.
'''Topo.mp4 VIDEO ORIGINAL (Screamer de un DVD Pirata del Topo Gigio)''' is a [[screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] on August 15, 2018, which shows a set of clips from a children's show. The creator claims the video is a recording of a pirated DVD which the user purchased some time before making the video.

The peculiarity of this recording is the moment when Gigio looks directly at the screen after a black screen for a few seconds. This is shown at minute 11:05 of the video. The static effect is maintained for a long time at minute 11:54 while a piano melody is played and then a music box melody is played at minute 12:04. The music continues until it stops playing at minute 12:57. The static effect continued until it reached the screamer with a loud scream and flashing lights 21 seconds later. After the screamer, a static effect was played for 4 seconds and then ends the video with a black screen.

The creator of the video claims not to have edited the DVD to insert the screamer video and says that it was already inside the DVD.
==History==
[[File:1092.JPG|thumb|right|200px|[[1092paradise.com]].]]
As TikTok has become very popular, it has also become known for screamers uploaded on the platform, reaching thousands of views. Despite this, shock video [[1444]], a suicide video of a Russian user named Gleb Korablyov, was the first to be popularized by TikTok for its shock value. It has also started a DoNotGoogle trend, where users refrain from searching for any disturbing stuff on Google, mostly shock sites and videos.

The earliest TikTok screamer was [[TW-Jumpscare]], a video that depicts a girl doing a worm before noticing a huge thud from downstairs and someone knocking on her backroom door. Right after, the girl quickly headbutts the screen with a scream from the survival horror game franchise ''[[wikipedia:Five Nights at Freddy's|Five Nights at Freddy's]]''. This screamer is similar to [[Impossible Backflip]]. On May 19, 2020, a video without a caption or name was uploaded to TikTok by Russian user artem_mokrushin. The video depicts a woman sitting on the mattress and a man turning off the light before she finds a figure during which the light is turned off. After being asked to do so, the man turns on and off the light two times, at which point the figure appears and quickly approaches the screen. The video had received over 20 million views until a Twitter user, BenjaminBell, tweeted the video with the caption "2020 in One TikTok". It has since become known to be called by that name.<ref><nowiki>https://twitter.com/benjaminbell/status/1319111344843558912?lang=en</nowiki></ref>

The [[Kekma.net]] website began to rise from July to September 2020, with many videos about it reaching over a thousand views. However, the shock site has led TikTok to blacklist the term, meaning the term will have no results to appear when searched. In September 2020, TikTok was criticized for having a video of [[Suicide of Ronnie McNutt|Ronnie McNutt's suicide]] appeared on "For You" feed. Forbes also stated that some disguised "as clips of cute animals." During December 2020, the Instagram account [[mr.lilcarti]] uploaded a [[shock video]], possibly taken from [[Hoodsite]], depicting a 5-year-old boy named Hozefa Shaikh<ref>[https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/mumbai/five-year-old-boy-crushed-to-death-in-lift-in-dharavi-7072309/ "Five-year-old boy crushed to death in a lift in Dharavi. The moment the video from the account was popularized, it was shortly deleted after many reported deleting the account and its video. On December 20, 2020, TikTok user Aria Cyrus created and advertised<ref><nowiki>https://www.tiktok.com/@ariacyrus/video/6908063308243389698</nowiki></ref> her website, [[1092paradise.com]].

In June 2021, user Mayengg03 uploaded a [[shock video]] which began with a clip of a girl dancing to the song "Dick" by Starboy3 before cutting to another video of a young man being beheaded. The video was titled "[[Duck Pack 51|Duckpack51]]", after the blog where the video originated from.
'''The White Christmas Game''' was a Sabotage [[screamer]] by [[Liquid Generation]], the screamer was taken down in 2016, along with the entire Liquid Generation website.

The game features a window overlooking a cartoony Winter landscape, with Christmas lights and a nutcracker figurine on the sides. The instructions, which are narrated by a female voice, tell the player that the window has been frosted over, and challenge them to wipe off the frost to "reveal the secrets of the season". A snippet of the Christmas carol ''Deck The Halls'', played on a harpsichord, can be heard in the background.

Once the player presses 'Play' or skips the instructions, a finger appears on the screen, which can be moved by the mouse to wipe off the frost from the window. Wiping it will reduce the frost in some areas, which will, however, quickly freeze over again. The animation and the screamer will always play out the same, regardless of where or how much the player wipes the window, even if they don't wipe it at all.

Moments after the game begins, a blurry figure resembling Santa Claus appears in the background of the Winter landscape. He soon disappears and then re-appears in several different spots, seemingly advancing a bit towards the player's window every time.

Eventually, he will appear in the foreground near the center, after which an edited Santa Claus with a face from the 1997 horror movie ''Jack Frost'' and a pointy hammer in his hand that has blood on both ends will suddenly pop up with a loud scream right in front of the window, which gets immediately smashed in.
'''The Scariest Story Ever''' is a [[screamer]] video uploaded by steelrock44 on June 9, 2012.

The content of the video is a simple animation. The story is about a man who needs £50,000 for his boss on the second day and he cannot afford it. He asked his wife whether he can sell her ring to get money and she refused him. Finally, he killed his wife and tried to take off the ring, but failed. So he chopped off two of her fingers and got the ring to sell.

One night, the man heard someone knocking on his door. He opened the door and saw a woman who looks just like his dead wife. The man asked what happened to her fingers. As soon as the narrator finishes saying "You know what she said" at 1:29, a picture of Boy Ghost from the movie ''[[wikipedia:Dead Birds (2004 film)|Dead Birds]]'' appears with the same scream from [[The Maze]]. After the screamer, it shows the advertisement for "[[wikipedia:Vyond|GoAnimate!]]".

'''The Never Ending Level Game''' is a Flash game by Clarence Ball. The latest version was released in early 2010 and contains 300 levels, but earlier versions were released as early as 2005 and contained significantly fewer levels. The earliest known version, for example, included only 75 levels, with later versions continuously adding more, hence the name. The game contains a [[screamer]] at level 113.

The objective of the game is to figure out how to get to the next level, which usually involves a password. The first few levels are extremely simple and flat-out tell the player how to proceed, while the later levels contain progressively more difficult clues, which eventually require an extreme amount of creativity and lateral thinking, to the point that they may even require the player to open additional applications or to play around with the flash menu in order to proceed.

==Level 113==
Deep within the game, in Level 113, the game shows a large wall of text containing perplexing and seemingly contradictory clues, which, however, do not seem out of place at this stage of the game. It reads:
[[File:L113.png|thumb|220x220px|Level 113]]

“This is level 113 which comes after 112 and before 114/ why are you still playing this game? The answer to level 113 is hidden in this sentence. Read this sentence carefully again and again until you see it. I made a clever sentence in here that holds the password and if you keep reading you'll find out more. Think about the first and last sentence that is listed here. Notice that one word is used more than another word, while some words aren't used at all or more often than others.
This sentence is the least helpful. Where as this sentence could prove to be the most helpful of all. You need this sentence to connect the previous 2 sences. And this sentence here means less than anything. Really only the first three sentences that follow the last five sentences count where as the middle 8 sentences have nothing to do with everything. Take that last sentence I just said and think about it backwards. Look at this sentence too.“

As it turns out, the entire text was just a red herring, and after about 35 seconds, four identical pictures of a man who pulls his own eyeballs down his face with his bare hands pop up zooming in and out with a red filter, accompanied by a ''[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmTeC1kmEPM female scream followed by a Psycho music.]''

After this, the screen goes black, with white text slowly scrolling up, saying: “This entire game, from start to finish, was only a screamer. I hope I made you crap your pants because you just wasted many hours of your life that you'll never get back...”

The screen then stays black for a few seconds, after which the words “''APRIL FOOLS!!''” pop up, followed by an actual hint to beat the level.

If the player already knows the password beforehand, it is possible to bypass the screamer, since it is not necessary to wait for the screamer to show up before the solution becomes available.

===Shortcut to Level 113===
*For those who want to experience the screamer right away, this is the quickest way to get to level 113 (Note: all passwords are case sensitive):
**In the 'Level jump' menu, select 109 and enter SPACESPACE. Leave the password unchanged in the level that shows up and click Go.
**In Level 110, simply click Go twenty times.
**In Level 111, type in QUEST and click Go.
**In Level 112, type in the menu and click Go.
{{Quote|Over the years, I've been getting tons of emails from people telling me that my painting was used as some ridiculous urban myth about some girl who painted this image before commiting suicide, and if you stare at the image long enough her ghost will appear. Really? Seriously? Are people really that gullible? I've seen many of these discussions online, and it's just hilarious.|Robert Chang's response to his work being turned into a creepypasta.}}
[[File:Melancholic_princess_alternate.jpg|thumb|200px|The alternative version where Princess Ruu was given a jewelry head necklace.]]
The '''Melancholic Princess''', also known as '''Princess Ruu''' and more famously known as '''Sonee''', is an art piece created by Robert Chang. Eventually, it took on a life of its own and evolved into an internet urban legend. The legend of ''Sonee'' has served as the basis and set up for numerous internet jumpscares. Aside from being a classic creepypasta, the picture was of a sci-fi/fantasy screenplay from which the author Robert Chang had been writing at that time, titled "Tellurian Sky".<ref name="ethereality">https://www.ethereality.info/ethereality_website/paintings_drawings/new/illustrations/melancholic_princess/melancholic_princess.htm</ref>

==History==
The ''Melancholic Princess'' was created on February 18, 2002 by Thai artist Robert Chang, also known under the pseudonym "Lunatique".<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20170505131502/https://www.epilogue.net/art/13731-melancholic-princess "Melancholic Princess"]. Epilogue. Archived from the [https://www.epilogue.net/art/13731-melancholic-princess original] (February 18th, 2002)</ref> The piece was created as concept art for a sci-fi/fantasy screenplay he had been writing, titled ''Tellurian Sky''.<ref name="ethereality" /> The subject of the painting is the main character, Princess Ruu, in her final casual portrait before her coronation following the death of her father, the king. Ruu's melancholy expression is intended to capture the grief for her lost father, the burden of her impending responsibilities, and the pain of knowing that she will be permanently separated from her lover once crowned.<ref name="ethereality" />

Eventually, the painting somehow became the subject of an online urban legend. Chang himself caught wind of the legend a few years prior to 2006, when he received an email about it from someone in China (which therefore is where it is most strongly suspected to have originated). During this period, the legend was textually transmitted through online forums. Eventually, even English speakers sent emails to Chang as well, indicating that the legend had spread into the western hemisphere. Chang recounted this experience in a blog he posted on May 31, 2006.

Only less than one month later, the urban legend truly exploded. On June 11, 2006, YouTuber sonee uploaded a video<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTmwBhLMlFg</ref> titled "SONEE: Scary Clip". The video features a line of text which had to do with the lore and the picture changing. The video then prompts the viewer to stare at the painting for 5 minutes, accompanied by creepy music. At the end, the video then asks, "Did you see it?", before fading to black. This video gave major exposure to the urban legend, which many took to calling "Sonee". The template of Sonee provided the perfect conditions for a jumpscare, an opportunity which many internet users took advantage of. Numerous variations of the above video/legend were soon uploaded to YouTube, with jumpscares included at the end. Examples include "SONEE: (The Real Story)", "[[The True Story of the Melancholic Princess]]", "Scary Japanese Girl Illusion", and "[[Scariest Screamer]]".

==Explanation==
While the urban legend is obviously false, many have still reported seeing the painting warp itself when staring at it. Many people, especially fellow artists, have offered several explanations for this. Most of the painting is blurry, except for the eyes, which pronounce Ruu's piercing gaze. Additionally, the art style is a blend between anime and real life, causing an Uncanny Valley effect. And due to the rest of the painting besides the eyes being blurry, the viewer's brain may "automatically" adjust the image to slight degrees on its own, making the image seem as if it has moved or warped.

'''The House 2''' is a horror flash game created by a Thai Graphic artist: Sinthai Boonmaitree, and published on his site: "sinthaistudio.com", As the title implies that this game is a sequel to "The House" and the basis for the [[Alrena Roushe's Facebook Profile]] page, the games contain several jumpscares can be considered [[screamers]]. This game is officially discontinued since Flash retired in 2020, but footage exists on [[Youtube]].

== Gameplay ==
in both games, the player explores an old abandoned house and discovers the fate of the former residents. The text at the beginning of the game reads "The legend has is that there is a house in a small town that has been closed and left empty for decades. The house belonged to a wealthy family. But then, one day, all family members father, mother, daughter, and the maid, committed suicide. From that time, the neighbors have closed the house for good as they believe that the house where all family committed suicide is a curse. Some said that they have heard a women's screaming voice from that house. Yet no one dares to enter that house... are you?".

As the players progress through the house, they collect notes that reveal the family's fate. The mother and father gave birth to a child, Alrena Roushe, but the child had an incurable disease. Instead of letting Alrena suffer later in life, the parents poisoned her and hid her body in a safe. Later, the parents decided to adopt a new child, Nicole A. Matty, as a way of replacing Alrena. But Alrena's vengeful spirit still resided in the house, The parents, racked with guilt and driven mad over what they had done to their daughter, murdered Nicole and the maid then both committed suicide (the father in the shower, the mother in the working room). At the end of the game, it can be assumed that the player is killed by Alrena's vengeful spirit after she is released from the safe.

== Rooms and Hints ==
===Room 0===
There are no jumpscares on the outside of the house. Simply click to zoom in and click the wooden boards to remove them and click again to enter the house.

===Living Room===
Click on the light switch, picture frame, and notes on the sofa and floor to progress. The major scares in this room are the picture frame after the blood drips onto it (the picture pops up with a scare chord) and the maid appearing on the sofa (you must click the sofa note twice after it changes to "she's not-").

===Bathroom===
In this room, click on the shower curtain, toilet, bible, and sink to proceed. You'll know you're making progress when the sink fills with blood and a note appears. The major scare in this scene occurs when the silhouette of a hanging body appears in the shower. Clicking the curtain again shows the body from the legs down. When the body disappears, "FORGIVE ME" appears in bloody writing all over the walls. After a short pause, the shape of a blurry man appears along with a scare chord. The game progresses, The game starts with the player, going into the abandoned house, which no one dared to step a foot inside. Once inside, the player finds himself in the living room of the house. A picture of the family with their daughter, a note, and a broken switch is enabled for the player. The ghost of the maid, weeping and moaning, appears several times, leaving a note and changing the journal pages on the couch. "Daughter's year of birth" is written on the note she leaves on the 2nd she's seen.

===Nicole's Bedroom===
In Nicole's bedroom, click on the music box, teddy bear, adoption certificate (on the wall), and picture (poking out of the drawer) to proceed. It should be noted that Nicole's spirit will appear several times as you progress the level; sitting on the floor, her shadow standing in the window, and darting across the screen. At the end of the level. Nicole's spirit will flash in front of the screen, both close up and in mid-shot, but will disappear and the loading screen will appear. However, this loading screen is to lull you into a false sense of security, as Nicole will suddenly appear in front of you with a bloodied face and twisted smile, and a scream plays.

The third room is called the bedroom, which is the room of the adopted child of the couple, Nicole N. Matty. A music box, Nicole's teddy bear on her bed (the bed's middle part is covered with blood), her adoption certificate, and by the middle of the room's gameplay, a picture of her parents, herself, and her dead sister, Alrena, is enabled for the player to observe. Again, by the middle of the gameplay, three notes appear on the wall and the player has to read them to move on to the next room. "She comes every night. She loves playing hide and seek. She's very good at it, I never find her.". These notes and the picture imply that Nicole's aware of Arlene's existence and that she appears every night. Nicole appears cuddled up next to her bed afterward, and a few seconds later, a bloody text appears on the wall reading, "Play with me." Then the room is completed when Nicole appears on the screen.

===Working Room===
In this room, click the light switch, the poison bottle, the registration of birth (this may be hard to spot in the back of the room), and the rope to proceed. There are two major scares in this room. The first is the mother's body being yanked up into the room, after clicking the rope enough times. Note that to proceed, the light must be switched off to retrieve the key from the mother's body. To complete the level, click the note under the bed until the body disappears and the note changes to a photo of Alrena as a baby (this is the profile photo on [[Alrena Roushe's Facebook Profile]]). The second major scare comes after you click on the baby photo and a pair of ghostly hands snatch it away. The final level then begins.

===Safe Room===
In the game's final room, the only element that can be interacted with is safe. The player's task is to figure out the combination to the safe to open it. Using the notes found throughout the game ("daughter's year of birth", the birth certificate, etc.), the player can open the safe using the combination of 1-9-4-7, the year of Alrena's birth. The safe opens and a note, written from Alrena to her mother, can be found. After reading the note, a young girl with long black hair, similar to a Japanese yurei, crawls out of the safe and seemingly disappears. After a few moments, Alrena slowly rises in front of the screen, gnarled, bloody hands covering her face. After a few more moments of tension, Alrena drops her hands and screams, revealing a twisted face and black eyes. The game then ends.

=== Special Room ===
Once players finish the game they can receive a key to the Special Room. This room is a screen of text that summarizes the story of the game. However, after a few seconds, Alrena suddenly flashes in front of them with a screech. This is considered to be the scariest moment of the game as it is unexpected.

== Trivia ==
* Sinthai has also developed a spin-off game, [[The Halloween]] Set in a dark garage, it follows the same point-and-click style of the ''The House ''games, complete with its own set of jumpscares. It is available to play along with Sinthai's other games on his website.
'''The Fact about Sajjad Ali''' was a [[screamer]] animation created by Freeek and hosted on his website in 2002, but unfortunately, the page wasn't archived such as the .swf file, but it was later hosted to [[Albino Blacksheep]] in 2005, the user can be found on freenet.de

This animation uses the song "Paniyon Mein" from [[wikipedia:Sajjad Ali|Sajjad Ali]], a Pakistani pop singer, as background music. The background image is a photo of Stonehenge taken from [[wikipedia:Windows XP|Windows XP]] wallpaper, with some random X-shapes flying around. The text appears letter by letter, reading: "Sajjad Ali: Pakistani Most Favourite semi-classical and Pop Singer. He composed this song similar to the original soundtrack of [[wikipedia:Michael Jackson|Michael Jackson]] World in Peace."

This is followed by the lyrics of Paniyon Mein (in Romanized Hindi). Shortly after the fourth line of the song appears on screen, a Banshee with glowing eyes suddenly zooms in from the center with the same scream from [[What's Wrong?]], covering the Stonehenge picture. The video then starts over on an endless loop. The background song, however, does not loop and will stop playing after a couple of seconds.

==Trivia==
*The image of the Banshee was reused for [[SCP-450]].
'''The Cutest Kids in Costumes''' (A.K.A. '''Kutest Kids in Kostumes''' on the title screen) was a [[Liquid Generation]] sabotage [[screamer]]. As the name implies, it consists mostly of a slideshow of little children dressed in Halloween costumes. It is similar to another Sabotage prank called [[The Cutest Puppies on the Web|Cutest Puppies on the Web]], which also uses an adorable slideshow as a setup for the screamer.

The slideshow will begin after the user clicks "Play" and automatically browse through the pictures, so there is no need to get to the next slide. After the 13th image, an edited image of a man with sharp teeth, four eyes, black knuckles, and small tentacle-like appendages on either side of his head, who's accomplishing a thumbs-up gesture, will suddenly pop up and zoom in with a loud, high-pitched scream, and then briefly blink with all four eyes.

While most of the pictures in the slideshow are lighthearted and feature kids dressing up as animals, fictional characters, or food items, the 13th picture, which appears before the screamer, actually seems to show a child dressing up as [[wikipedia:Ali Shallal al-Qaisi|Ali Shallal al-Qaisi]], an Iraqi prisoner who had infamously been tortured at Abu Ghraib prison during the 2003 Iraq war, If one looks closer to the kid's head on the last part, you can tell it's photoshopped because of the head shape on the costume.
'''The Clouds''' was a [[Flash]] animation made in 2004 by [[MJBDiver]] ([[Cinema du Comical Cartoon Calamities]]), another one of his animations, however, the animation is now deleted.

The animation first shows a sky filled with clouds with some text saying "''Cinema du Comical Cartoon Calamities presents: The Clouds''", and a ''Play'' button at the bottom. When clicked, the button leads to a scene with an animated cloud background along with piano music. Then, some text appears asking "''Do you remember watching the clouds?''" followed by "''Do you remember lying there on top of the grassy hill and staring at the open sky?''" "''What could you see in those clouds? A duck? A boat? Or maybe a giant cat?''", "''Watching the clouds was sure fun, wasn't it?", "You can still enjoy the clouds today''", "''Just drop everything you're doing, go to your back yard, lie down, and enjoy the clouds.''",

Then, the phrase "''They're still up there.''" shows shortly, before being cut by a picture of a woman with large black eyes, a missing tooth, and a beard, along with a loud belching sound. Then, the word "FIN" is shown with a ''Replay'' button.
'''The Chiyo Chan Colab''' (Misspelling of ''Collab'') is a series of spam [[Flash]] animations created on [[Newgrounds]], with some hidden [[screamers]], made by FatBadger and Brick-Toppp.

For the most part, it's just a flurry of poorly made references to Chiyo Mihama from the ''[[wikipedia:Azumanga Daioh|Azumanga Daioh]]'' series; some with "earrape", others with crude jokes, etc. However, the fourth option and sequels contain [[screamers]]. Once selected, it displays an image with the text "the real-life Chiyo-Chan", then slowly pans to a picture of a girl cosplaying as Chiyo-Chan.

Suddenly, it switches to a black-and-white flashing drawing of an angry face, over a distorted, pitch-shifted, and fast-paced looping scream. This is followed by TV static; another, much more distorted, electronic-sounding scream plays over the current scream, and the words "CHIYO CHAN IS FOR FAGGOTS!!!!!" appear. They continuously loop until the user goes back to the main menu.

=== Sequels ===
Two sequels were made to this "collab" contained screamers. The third option in this collab also contains "earrape", which may scare headphone users.

==== Second version ====
In the second version labeled "brick top", a poorly drawn cartoon of Wade Fulp (older brother of Newgrounds creator Tom) is masturbating to Chiyo Mihama. however, the [[screamer]] will show a flashing text "Stop masturbating to Chiyo-chan, Wade".

==== Third version ====
The third version with the first option labeled "Reverent", has featured an animated version of the [[Goatse]] image.

The last option starts with a Russian-speaking animation featuring Chiyo Mihama, after a few seconds, a flashing zoom-in head pops up along with an electronic scream.
'''The Chase''' is an Australian PSA made in 1997. It was produced by the charity [[wikipedia:International Fund for Animal Welfare|International Fund for Animal Welfare]] (IFAW), whose goal is to protect animals and the places they call home.

The ad begins with an establishing shot of a forest. We see more of the forest afterward, from the point of view of a scared fox running through it. The sound effects used imply that the fox is being chased by a dog throughout the shot. At one point, the fox narrowly avoids getting hit by a car. The fox runs into a hole, and the shot fades to black.

In the next shot, the camera spins out of control, and the picture turns red: implying the fox was pulled out of its hole and slaughtered. We then see a slideshow of the following images, each one accompanied by a gunshot sound effect:
*The fox's mangled head.
*The rest of the fox's body from the previous shot.
*Several dogs ripping and tearing at the fox.
*Another shot of the vixen's head.
*The mutilated body of the vixen, lying in the grass.

A final message, in white text over a black screen displayed: "For pity's sake, ban fox hunting now. Your MP has the power."
'''Thatsphucked.com''' was a [[shock site]] created by a person with the nickname and username of Mr. Phucked in late 2007, it functioned as a library of [[Shock site|shock videos]], as well as a news and fake news site. It was one of the best-known shock sites, as it enjoyed high popularity during its existence, all thanks to the large number of videos it stored, all this fame was mainly between 2008 and 2013, although until its closure it was very popular.

It could be said that it was the direct competition of eFukt and [[Bestshockers.com]] in terms of a wide variety of shocking content, since both had almost the same content with the difference that thatsphucked had photos and videos of accidents and that it also functioned as a forum.

== History ==
Thatsphucked.com was founded at the end of 2007 by a person under the pseudonym Mr. Phucked, specifically in the second week of October, since the first posts made on the page date back to October 12. The page started with the upload of some porn videos, naked photos of celebrities, shows and celebrities, dating tips, shock videos, animal accident videos, health tips, and some scat videos.

A few months later he would start uploading gore videos and photos of accidents, genital mutilation, and terrorism, this being the material that made the page more famous. The site would later create two more pages derived from thtsphucked, these were:

* '''Phuckedtube.com''': Created in 2010, on this page users could share and watch videos, mainly porn and fetish videos, many of which came from thatsphucked.

* '''Phuckedporn.com:''' Created in 2014, as its name says, it was a page to see all kinds of pornography.

The sites themselves were related and similar, and all three were subsequently closed or abandoned in 2016 and 2017.
[[File:Thatsph.png|thumb|Watermark used in the videos of both sites.]]
At the beginning of 2017, specifically at the end of February thatsphucked.com was abandoned and closed, after this many people in forums wondered why the page had been closed, and apparently, there are still doubts about this, since this probably happened due to the expiration of the domain or simply Mr. Phucked wanted to leave her, because there is no news about her death either, which makes her unknown.

The only thing that can currently be found on the page is a LinkedIn profile of Mr.Phucked which does not have much information about the site, you can also find some photos and videos on other pages. The site can be visited thanks to the Wayback Machine, allowing us to see what the page was like at the beginning and at the end, as well as being able to view some images and videos.
'''TeKZoned''' is a website first registered in October 2000, and is one of the earliest flash animations and game hosting websites.

The site contains multiple animations, gifs, and even games, which rarely contain any [[screamers]]. They are known for hosting [[Where's Waldo?]], [[What's Wrong?]], [[Say It]] and many more.
==Origin and History==
On November 29, 1999, the Tekzone.net website was registered and hosted by the same creator before the original TeKZoned was released. The website had several links to video games and a lot more. However, the website was moved to TeKZoned.

On October 9, 2000, the website was registered under the domain "Tekzoned.com". As mentioned above, the website is intended to host Flash animation, games, and a lot more. The website was first archived in March 2002, according to Wayback Machine. The first animation hosted on TekZoned was called "Insanity Test". After three months, the website now hosted various flash games and animations. Also, the website now offered different screamers. There are of course only 2 of them, namely [[What's Wrong?]] and [[Blue.gif|Mystery Room]].

==Spread==
In October 2002, the screamer [[Where's Waldo]] was provided on the site and became the most popular one of them all. This version contains a picture of [[Pazuzu]] along with a loud scream, while the original one contains a face from Maniacts. This animation was later hosted on [[Winterrowd.com]].

On January 20, 2008, a 19-year-old Bangladeshi user free2ballin uploaded a video titled [[Scary Barney]] for TekZoned. Throughout the video, Barney is seen singing the ending song: "I Love you". However, it was edited to have an extremely low volume. After 20 seconds, a picture of a female zombie from The Evil Dead pops up with a scream. The video has accumulated over 650,000 views.
'''Super Mario Bloopers''' is a flash animation by a french user: Gorekiller (Colonel Pleyel), it was first uploaded to [[YouTube]] on March 22, 2008, and uploaded to [[Newgrounds]] on April 21, 2008, Gorekiller created the flash when he was 19, this animation containing lots of funny short movies of Mario and his friends doing funny stuff. However, it contains a [[screamer]] in the end.

The shows tons of Super Mario Bros-themed animations, such as Mario using an excessive amount of fireballs, which kill Bowser and Cub from Happy Tree Friends, and Mario fighting with Flippy (also from Happy Tree Friends, this blooper is unseen). However, at the end of the last blooper, an edited image of Luigi screaming (From the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luigi%27s_Mansion Luigi's Mansion] Cover), with bad rotten teeth, pops up with the same scream from [[What's Wrong?]].

The animation then shows some camera angles from the movie ''[[wikipedia:Saw 3|Saw 3]]''; the scenes are of [[wikipedia:Jigsaw (Saw character)|John Kramer]] laying on a hospital bed. Then, the camera turns itself to Mark Hoffman, who also appeared in the Saw series, then shown in a black suit holding a gun. This whole scene is accompanied by Kramer's dialog, also taken from the movies. He appears alive, but then the gun turns into a stick of dynamite which explodes Hoffman's head, and the animation ends for real. The very last animation might take the fear out of the viewer.
'''Thewillpower.org''' is a [[shock site]] with the earliest known existence of it dating back to May 26, 2007, created and hosted by [[Heyya.org]].

When the user opens the site, they are presented with a white screen that contains a gif in the center. The gif itself shows a man, wearing shades and a white snapback cap, on a brown sofa performing autofellatio. This is accompanied by an extremely loud audio clip of the song ''Now You are a Man'' by ''DVDA'' that loops.<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiXaT_1I-vw, The Song.</ref> It should be noted that the original site was "thatsjustgay.com" before changing its name to Thewillpower.org

There is also a variant of this website on [[YTMND]] where it's the same gif in the middle of a black background with the song ''[[Wikipedia:Gimme All Your Lovin|Gimme All Your Lovin]]'' by ''ZZ Top'' repeating on loop.<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae829mFAGGE, The song that plays on the YTMND variant.</ref> There is also black text above the gif that reads "''The Best Scent...He sucked his poland.''"
The site may have gone on to influence another [[shock site]] similar in content to this one called [[suckdude.com]].

As for the site itself, represents a pornographic GIF of a man performing autofellatio on top of a bed. with DVDA - Now You're a Man is played as a background music. all of the contents of the site is very similar to thewillpower.org with the one difference being that the man from the shock site is in the Supine position while the latter features a man sitting on his couch.
'''Subliminal Screamer''' is a [[screamer]] video, uploaded on June 12, 2006, by Log Bog (Shadow Fuckface), and November 26, 2006, by VenerableDread.

The video starts with Swensen's commercial, where pink ice cream can be seen being put on a cone (the scoop mark resembles a woman's figure, hence the "''sexy''" ice cream message). When another scoop of ice cream is about to be served, the mouse from Liquid Generation's [[Optical Illusions (Liquid Generation)|Optical Illusion]] sabotage appears with a piercing scream. After, the text reading "Oops, hehe." appears

VenerableDread's version (under the name ''Sexy Ice Cream Message!'') has the ferret replaced with a space marine from ''[[wikipedia:Warhammer 40,000|Warhammer 40,000]]'' screaming "IIIIIII'LL TEAR YOU APAAAAAAAAAART!!!!". The text displayed at the end says "Hahaha, haha, hahahahaha! FOR THE CHANGER OF WAYS! Made by VenerableDread. Original commercial hosted on eBaum's World."

{{DISPLAYTITLE:Styling Guide}}

== '''Styling Guide''' ==
This guide explains how to style articles. You will learn how to change colors, size and font to make your articles pop!

=== '''Color''' ===
To change the text color, you will have to copy the following line of code.
<nowiki>TEXT</nowiki>

Then, you have to press the Edit source button in the upper right corner. Here you will see the source code of the page. Now, paste the code where you want to change the text color.

Here are some colors that you can use.
* '''White'''
* '''Gray'''
* '''Black'''
* '''Maroon'''
* '''Red'''
* '''OrangeRed'''
* '''Orange'''
* '''Yellow'''
* '''Lime'''
* '''Cyan'''
* '''Blue'''
* '''Purple'''
* '''Magenta'''
* '''DeepPink'''
* '''Pink'''
* '''LightBlue'''

Now, simply choose the color you want from this list and replace the ''COLOR'' string with your chosen color. You can also use [http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colornames.asp this website] to get more color codes.

And voilà, your text is now coloured!

==='''Size'''===

To change the text size, you will have to copy the following line of code.

<nowiki>TEXT</nowiki>

Then, you have to press the Edit source button in the upper right corner. Here you will see the source code of the page. Now, paste the code where you want to change the text size.

Now, choose a value that's between '''7''' and '''-7'''. After, replace the ''SIZE'' string with the size you chose and replace the ''TEXT'' from the code with your text.

Your text size should now be changed!

=== '''Font''' ===

To change the text font, you will have to copy the following line of code.
<nowiki>TEXT</nowiki>

Then, you have to press the Edit source button in the upper right corner. Here you will see the source code of the page. Now, paste the code where you want to change the text font.

After that, you have to choose a font, like '''Helvetica''' or '''Arial'''. After, replace the ''FONT'' string with the font you chose and replace the ''TEXT'' string with your text. You can use [http://www.w3.org/Style/Examples/007/fonts.en.html#font-style this website] to learn how to do more with font styles, like changing the weight, stretch, and more.

And boom! The font face is now changed.

'''If you want to combine multiple text style codes in one line, just add a '';'' between them.'''
<nowiki>TEXT</nowiki>

'''Steve Co. Supply Crate''' also known as '''Locked Chest''' was a feature in the sandbox video game ''[[wikipedia:Minecraft|Minecraft]]'' for April Fools in 2011, When creating a new world, locked chests would spawn at random locations on the map.

When clicking on a [https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Locked_chest locked chest], the player would be redirected to the Steve Co. Minecraft Store. It pretended to be a ''Pay 2 Win Shop'' for Minecraft. However, clicking on the ''Proceed to Checkout'' button triggered the [[screamer]] part in which a Velociraptor from the ''[[wikipedia:Jurassic Park|Jurassic Park]]'' franchise, growled loudly and flew across the screen, here are all of the items on the store listed below:
*Steve Co. supply crate key ($3)
*Steve Co. supply crate key 5-pack ($18)
*Miner's helmet ($21)
*Name change ($99)
*Creeper saddle ($42)
*Secret griefer identity ($155)
*Enlargement pill ($2)
*Response from support ($494)
*Three "coming soon" items (priced at $75, $7, and $1499)
*Regular padlock ($8)

There was also a "seizure mode" which activated when the player bought items with a total price of $10,000. The website then proceeded to ask the player if they are prone to seizure, and if they answered yes, the website background changed to a flashing strobe light, However, [[Wikipedia:Markus Persson|Notch]] removed it to avoid lawsuits from Universal and posted about it in the forums.

Notch states that he was going to remove them at midnight on April 2, but did not due to illness.

As of April 2 (the day following April Fools), the store had a multicolored banner that stated "♥ April Fools'! ♥", along with a [https://bitmidi.com/never-gonna-give-you-up-3-mid MIDI instrumental] of [[wikipedia:Rick Astley|Rick Astley]]'s [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ Never Gonna Give You Up] plays in the background. [https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Tobias_M%C3%B6llstam Tobias Möllstam] stated that this was "''the best script he's written to date.''"
'''Squirrel in a mouse trap''' is a [[screamer]] video uploaded by ishaan sharma on June 19, 2015.

The video shows some live footage of a squirrel cautiously approaching and investigating a spring-loaded mousetrap. Eventually, the squirrel tries to eat the piece of cheese and consequently sets off the mousetrap, which snaps and flips away from the rodent. The squirrel then reels back and cowers in one spot for a while.

It then stretches its head with a leery look as it appears to have noticed the camera, and suddenly leaps towards the screen. At this point, a picture of [[Amy Peterson]] from ''[[Wikipedia:Fright Night|Fright Night]]'' appears with a scream and zooms in and out.
==Variants==
===Original Version===
The original footage of the squirrel was uploaded to YouTube as ''Squirrel Owned By Rat Trap!'' by goodvidsable on January 11, 2012. It starts with some introductory text, saying that the creator of the video was dealing with a rodent problem in their bedroom and therefore eventually bought a rattrap to deal with the problem. However, the trap ended up being mysteriously sprung with no catch, so the creator decided to install a video camera in the closet to see what's going on.

The footage itself is the same as the one in the [[screamer]], but when the squirrel jumps towards the screen at the end, Disturbed's 'Down with the Sickness' plays and a screen appears saying “Owned”, followed by “They Keep Coming Back...”. Even though it contains no scream, it can still be a bit startling if the viewer doesn't expect it.
===Vine Version===
There is also a six-second Vine video featuring the footage of the squirrel setting off the trap with an excerpt of the ''What's This?'' song from ''Nightmare Before Christmas'' in the background, as a joke, Curiously, the [[screamer]] version of this video seems to be the only version which features the ''elfail.com'' watermark in the top right, making it easy to tell apart from the legitimate uploads.
'''Sonic.exe''' is a creepypasta game created by the game developer MY5TCrimson. The game opens with the opening screen from the original ''[[wikipedia:Sonic the Hedgehog (1991 video game)|Sonic the Hedgehog]]'' but after a short time, the screen temporarily becomes an "evil version" of the original. Players then come to another screen where they have to press Enter.

=== Act One ===
The player now plays as Tails the Fox. The player walks through a happy world until coming across a trail of doom and destruction. If players continue to follow the path, they reach Sonic who wants to play a game with the player. a game of life or death. The player can try to run away, but it will not work.

=== Act Two ===
The player now plays as Knuckles the Echidna. The player ends up in a strange world without trees, grass, or animals. After a while, the player's screen begins to flicker with blood everywhere. After a while, the player will reach Sonic, who will lock the player into some sort of invisible cage.

=== Act ? (Possibly “Act 3”) ===
The player now plays as is Dr. Eggman. The player is in a castle-like building which gets darker with every floor until the player fades away in the darkness. The game ends with a picture of Sonic with "'''I AM GOD'''" written below. Then, a screen with flames on it appears with the song ''Crytopia''.

==Spirits of Hell==
Created in 2018, now in a more extensive version, now also with the option to make Tails, Knuckles and Dr. Eggman survive at the end of the game, taking many more stages and more killing scenes, with several alternate endings. But it has also changed where the scenes of scares occur in certain phases.

== Spoilers Alert! ==
NOTE: The following description may contain '''spoilers''' for Spirits of Hell.
{{SpoilerStart}}

#In the first solo stage of Tails, you will get a coconut tree with evil Sonic hanging upside down, if you jump on top, cut to the scene of evil Sonic jumping on the screen with a loud scream.
##At the same stage, if the Tails see the dead animals and return to their plane without getting the Green Ring, the Tails will begin to walk slow and out of nowhere, Evil Sonic will go behind Tails, wherein case he picks up, evil Sonic jump to the screen with a loud scream next.
##In the next stage of Tails, in that part where Tails has to run to not get caught by Evil Sonic while playing the song of "breathlessness" in the aquatic stages of Sonic, where Tails seems to run automatically, but when the music ends, you have the option of jumping on a terrain separated by an abyss not to be caught by Evil Sonic. But if you do not jump in time, you fall into the abyss, where when you reach the bottom of the abyss, Evil Sonic will appear to kill you in the end. And you also have the option to stop running when that song is finished, but if you do, Evil Sonic knocks you down and then appears and kills you, where suddenly the screen turns dark with a scream out loud from Tails, but at least Evil Sonic does not jump off the screen here.
#In the second solo stage of Dr. Eggman, if you can not get within 30 seconds until the end of the scene, Evil Sonic will then wait until you reach the endpoint, where he will then jump on the screen with a loud scream.
#In the stage where only Tails and Dr. Eggman survived, it starts with Dr. Eggman's laboratory filled with fog, with the option of opening the windows to get out of the fog or no risk. If you open the windows, after all the fog is gone, you will see the Evil Sonic that will go to Dr. Eggman, jumping to the screen with a loud scream at the end, before going to kill the Tails afterward.
#There are also secret black rings which you have to pick up. It initially is completely useless, but in case you only have one survivor, after completing the "Hidden Palace" phase and finding out why Sonic became a demon and started killing everyone, the next stage where goes your last survivor character, will be attacked by Evil Sonic and in case you have not got the black ring, it will kill the last survivor. From there will appear the screen of all shown as undead before the Sonic Evil drops to screen with a loud scream and ends with the cliffhanger of the game.
'''Smb3free.cf''' was an online flash game built with the ''Hello Mario Engine'' plugin. It was created by [[User:HLDK|AnimatorXP]] for the ''"[[Screamer Wiki:Community#January 2016|Create your own screamer!]]"'' contest, which was held on January 1, 2016. The game itself pretends to be a free flash port of ''[[wikipedia:Super Mario Bros. 3|Super Mario Bros. 3]]''.

The game uses the WASD keys to move and jump and has a single level, which naturally looks quite similar to those found in the actual SMB3. This one, however, contains sections, enemies, and powerups that could look very advanced for a first level.

After Mario gets past a huge pool of water, he reaches a part of the level where there are wooden pillars sticking up from a pitfall, with Red Koopas standing on top of them. Not long after getting close to the pitfall, when the player dies, a flashing picture of [[Regan MacNeil]] from ''[[Wikipedia:The Exorcist|The Exorcist]]'' appears with a loud scream. But it is possible for you to go to the end where the random item is going to be where you can receive a mushroom, a flower, or a star, but when you jump on that item, the same screamer will appear too.

The game was taken down along with the entire '''AnimatorXP.com''' site and the [[screamer]] will remain lost, though the animation was archived, it is no longer playable.
'''Shuaiby's Suicide''' is a [[shock video]] from [[wikipedia:Stockton, California|Stockton, California]] made on March 14, 2018. The video is a livestream of Shuaib "Shuaiby" Aslam committing suicide using a shotgun. Shuaiby frequented [[4chan]]'s [https://boards.4chan.org/r9k/ /r9k/] board and certain Discord groups.

==The Video==
On March 14, 2018, Shuaiby started a Livestream on his [[YouTube]] channel simply titled "Hey." Tarp was put on the windows to cover any debris. He starts a Discord call and two other people can be heard talking, one of them crying. A bit later, Shuaiby holds out a piece of paper with the text "Bye /r9k/." Afterward, Shuaiby loads a KSG military tactical shotgun and shoots himself. The blast knocks over the tarp and camera. Blood can be seen on the walls and ceilings. A bit later, Shuaiby's mom walks into her son's face now blown off. Shuaiby's mother, in horror, calls 911.

Immediately after the suicide, a /pol/ thread was created, which discussed the issue. A rumor began linking Shuaiby’s death to a user named Reiko, who often advertised their server on /r9k/. Allegedly, Reiko would blackmail users into taking hormones, and screenshots emerged of what appeared to be Shuaiby posting on Reiko’s server.<ref>https://archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/167404965/#167405997</ref>

[[File:shuaiby.png|thumb|Another photo of Shuaiby with a mask. This photo was used as proof that the person disproving the original rumor was legit.]]
This would later turn out to be a hoax. After the Livestream, a user in Reiko’s server changed their screen name to Shuaiby’s screen name. Shuaiby’s death had nothing to do with Reiko or /r9k/, but it was rather due to general depression and problems with his mother. This was clarified in a post made by one of his friends.<ref>https://desuarchive.org/r9k/thread/43858201/</ref>

After the video, /r9k/ janitors stopped allowing Discord threads.<ref>https://desuarchive.org/r9k/thread/64536369/#64536511</ref>

"Aslam, Shuaib
29 February 2000 - 14 March 2018
Stockton, California, USA

Shuaib "Shuaiby" Aslam was known as a kind and loving person to those who knew him. He used to enjoy things like anime and video games, and he loved discussing those things with his friends. He was very close to his friends, he kept in touch with them online. He would often message them about various topics, ranging from discussing anime to asking whether or not they'd like to play an online video game with him.

He was a member of a Pakistani-American family, and his family still holds him in high regards. He was very open about his depression, and he turned to his family and friends when he began to feel feelings of worthlessness. We all assured him that he was certainly worthy of life, and we all thought he was getting better. He was always very open about how he felt, so we thought that was a good sign. We continued to stay very close to him, we had his back 24/7. We always told him that life was worth it, and that suicide was a permanent solution to a temporary problem. We assured him that there was no reason for suicide, but I guess it didn't get though to him.

He took his life on March 14, 2018, much to the dismay of everyone he knew. We still wonder if there was anything else we could've done. We're sorry, Shuaiby. We hope that you have at least found eternal peace in your decision to end it all. Maybe in another universe, you're still here, enjoying life to its fullest without any doubts of life's worth. We're sorry that we didn't do enough, Shuaiby, and we're still mourning your death to this very day. I hope that you can read this, Shuaiby. May you rest in peace for eternity."<ref>https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/206130423/shuaib-aslam</ref>
'''Shock sites''', also known as '''shock media''' or '''shockers''', are any piece of media (mostly on the Internet) that use disturbing content, commonly [[:Category:Pornography|pornography]], [[:Category:Gore|gore]], and other types of [[:Category:Graphic content|graphic imagery]] to shock viewers. Just like traditional [[screamer]]s, shock sites have a goal to shock their viewers with unexpected content. Some famous examples of shock sites include [[2 Girls 1 Cup]], [[Jarsquatter]], [[1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick]], [[Kekma.net]], and [[Goatse]]. These websites have gained a high level of popularity since the late 20th century, and are often used as a practical jokes. The first shock website ever created was [[Rotten.com]], a site that featured photographs of dead people, disturbing diseases, deformed bodies, and a lot more. In addition, Rotten.com was also the first gore website ever created.

==History==
In 1996, [[Rotten.com]] was registered by Thomas E. Dell (Soylent) after he wrote a program that could guess domains with one word, and "Rotten" was one of the unclaimed words. Rotten.com hosted a gallery of gore videos and images.<ref>Wofford, T. (2017, November 29). [https://theoutline.com/post/2549/rotten-com-is-offline "Rotten.com Is Offline"]. The Outline.</ref> One file submitted, titled "motorcyle.jpg", concerned many of the site's users and resulted in tons of e-mails being sent to the creator from viewers. The file name suggests that the injury was a result of a motorcycle accident, although the website claimed it was likely an "attempted shotgun suicide."<ref>web.archive.org/web/20050516235424/rotten.com/FAQ/</ref>

In 1999, the domain [[Goatse.cx]] was registered. Its front page showed a picture, titled "''Hello.jpg''", which depicted a man using both of his hands to widely stretch his anus.<ref>Nast, C. (2013, April 16). [https://www.wired.com/2013/04/goatse/ "Goatse And the Rise Of the Web's Gross-Out Culture"].
In 2000, [[Ogrish.com]] was registered to cover uncensored news and videos. Ogrish.com was best known for its publication of war footage and caused controversy by not asking for consent from any victims' families to upload content depicting a victim's death. The company later rebranded as LiveLeak in 2006.<ref><nowiki>https://web.archive.org/web/20160316104436/http://www.businessinsider.com.au/profile-of-hayden-hewitt-founder-of-liveleak-2014-10</nowiki></ref>

[[Lemon Party|Lemonparty.org]] was created on October 3, 2002, and showed an image of three naked old men having sex while “[[wikipedia:If You Wanna Be Happy|If You Wanna Be Happy]]” by Jimmy Soul played in the background.

[[Meatspin]], which was created in 2005, showed a looping gif of two people having anal sex while the receiving partner's penis spins clockwise. [[wikipedia:You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)|You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)]] by [[wikipedia:Dead or Alive|Dead or Alive]] played while the viewer would watch the penis spin. The website also had a counter of how many "spins" the viewer had watched. The owner followed the website with [[Meatspinnetwork.com]] on February 2, 2006.

[[Mr. Hands]] is a nickname given to a man named Kenneth Pinyan<ref><nowiki>http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Content?oid=30811</nowiki></ref> who's a video of himself receiving anal sex from a horse, recorded by a man named James Michael Tait, and dying afterward went viral in July 2005.<ref><nowiki>https://web.archive.org/web/20180926001255/http://www.popcrunch.com/7-people-who-took-animals-for-lovers/</nowiki></ref>

In 2007, the [[wikipedia:Dnepropetrovsk maniacs|Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs]]' video of the murder of a 48-year-old man named Sergei Yatzenko was leaked online and was dubbed [[3 Guys 1 Hammer]] by viewers. The teenagers behind the video, Viktor Sayenko, Igor Suprunyuk, and Alexander Hanzha, had killed 20 other people prior to making this video. All three boys were found guilty of murder, and Sayenko and Suprunyuk were sentenced to life in prison, while Hanzha received nine years.<ref><nowiki>https://casefilepodcast.com/case-92-dnepropetrovsk-maniacs/</nowiki></ref>

In 2008, [[Bestgore.com]] was registered by Mark Merek and received media attention in June 2012 when [[Luka Magnotta|Luka Rocco Magnotta]] posted a video of himself stabbing and having sex with 33-year-old Jun Lin's corpse. Magnotta posted three videos one year prior of him suffocating kittens in different ways.<ref name="Vulture">Haylock, Z. (2020, January 22).
In 2013, [[GoreJunkies]] received 4 million unique visitors after its launch.

In late 2014, a video titled [[2 Friends 1 Fish]] was hosted under 2friends1fish.com, which showed two men in a lake forcing a fish onto one of the men's penis'. ''The Metro'' claimed in an article that the video had circulated "hundreds of thousands of times."<ref>McAteer, O.
[[Spritecranberry.net]] was created in 2019, and originally redirected the viewer to a graphic [[YouTube]] video titled "How to express your dogs anal glands at home (Veterinarian recommended way)", in which a veterinarian inserts his fingers inside a dogs anus. The site later changed to a redirect to an image of a bloody hair transplant.

On April 23, 2019, [[Kekma.ga]] was released. Kekma.ga was a shock site that once opened displayed an 18+ age warning and a giant button that read "ENTER" in the middle. Once clicked, the website would change to extreme gore, with a center video of a man squatting in a pool of blood, forcing a large, bloodstained industrial screw into his urethra. A 41-minute video titled "The Kekma movie" was released on September 11, 2020, and contains several YouTube Poops, various parodies, offensive jokes, and numerous statements about the September 11 attacks. The owner of the website followed up with another site called [[WomensAlliance.xyz]] in October 2020, which shut down a few months later. The site shut down in February 2022, on its final domain Kekma.net.

A viral graphic shock video titled [[Duckpack51]] was uploaded to [[TikTok]] by user Mayengg03 in June 2021, who was banned after moderators found his post. The video was named after the Blogspot page where it originated from, and showed a clip of a girl dancing before cutting to a video of a man named Rodolfo Belluci being executed via decapitation. In the same year, a formerly lost "snuff" film made in 2015 titled Necropedopheliac, which is commonly referred to as [[Snuff R73]], was found after a horror cinema [https://icebergcharts.com/ iceberg chart] mentioning the film was posted onto Reddit. The film is a 10 minutes 55 seconds compilation of extreme medical gore from the [https://www.britannica.com/event/Syrian-Civil-War Syrian civil war] involving children and babies, as well as security footage from China of a man stomping on a toddler. YouTuber [https://youtube.fandom.com/wiki/Tuv Tuv] described the video as "The most banned video on the Internet."<ref><nowiki>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkwX91YT4Tw</nowiki></ref>
== Popular Culture ==
Because of their popularity, shock sites have been mentioned or featured in some works of popular media. [[Lemon Party]] was mentioned on a sketch on ''Talkshow with Spike Feresten'', ''[[wikipedia:Archer|Archer]]'', ''[[wikipedia:The Simpsons|The Simpsons]]'', ''[[wikipedia:The Cleveland Show|The Cleveland Show]]'' and ''[[wikipedia:30 Rock|30 Rock]]''. ''30 Rock'' made three allusions to "Lemon Party".
Stewie then proceeds to become surprised and shocked by the video.<ref><nowiki>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moHj6cIrmQ4</nowiki></ref>
=== Reactions ===
[[File:Reaction 2.png|thumb|220x220px|A group of soldiers reacting to '''2 Girls 1 Cup'''.]]
As shock sites surfaced on the web, more reaction videos were being posted and eventually became a trend on the Internet. The concept of a reaction video is to get someone to visit a shock site while recording their reaction. A good example of this is the ''[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doZnJSojBtw Marines 2 Girls 1 Cup Reactions]'' video, which has accumulated more than 11 million views since it was posted to YouTube in April 2008.
'''Secret Michael Jackson Audio Tape''' was a flash [[screamer]] animation made by [[Liquid Generation]]. The [[screamer]] was taken down along with the entire Liquid Generation website.

The game has the player listen to a secret audiotape of the late [[wikipedia:Michael Jackson|Michael Jackson]] and a boy talking on the phone. While the boy is watching a cartoon, Michael is doing his taxes. Michael also tells the boy some strange proverbs such as "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" and "two in the hand is better than three??? in a bush or something."

In the end, he says "I'm going to take a break from my taxes, do you want to come over and punch me in the butthole?". a picture of Kevin McCallister from the movie ''[[wikipedia:Home Alone|Home Alone]]'' will pop up with a loud scream. Then a text appears: "You have been sabotaged" and the word "''SABOTAGE''" pops up. a ninja falls and says "click here for more sabotages" before a link to the same website crushes him.
'''Screamer Cactus''' (unofficial name) is a French [[shock site]] initially created by French forum user PyjamaSam, also called "0xad", and was first mentioned (indirectly) by the latter on April 7, 2012, on [http://www.jeuxvideo.com/forums/1-50-98252783-1-0-1-0-j-ai-fait-un-super-screamer.htm this topic] on Jeuxvideo.com French off-topic forum ''Blabla 18-25 ans''.

The site contains a picture of a man with a cactus inside his anus, with a very small amount of semen about to out of his penis, while an extremely loud version of the song [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoqZZYIfspQ The Cadillac Theory] by Stupeflip plays in the background. The same .swf file that contains the audio also tries to trick the browser into opening endless pop-up tabs. A script in the source code of the site will also put the browser in full-screen mode and hide the cursor.

==History==
During the summer of 2012, the Screamer Cactus gained attention on Twitter during Twitter raids. In early 2016, a small team went on Twitch to trick people into opening the website during live streams.

On April 8, 2016, a Streamer named Takeru_46 opened the Screamer Cactus during one of his live streams. The site stayed on the broadcast for more than four minutes before he managed to close it.
'''Scary Spot the difference - Medium''' is a [[screamer]] video made by Michael Robinson. The video has accumulated over 172,000 views since its upload to [[YouTube]] in June 2007.

== Video ==
It starts with a Windows Movie Maker intro stating the following: "''There are 5 differences in the pictures. See if you can spot them all (Hint the 5th is in the bottom right, look closely)''", [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erEyNXU3kOo Twoism] by Boards of Canada plays as we are then shown two images of a black dog (the uploader's dog [who's named Dexter], as said in the video's description) wearing a blue hoodie. Unlike other "Find the difference" [[screamer]]s, where the two images usually have no differences, the images here do actually have some. However, contrary to what the text at the beginning said, There are 4 differences, not 5.

In the image on the right: the white spot on the dog's neck is missing, the glass decoration in the back is slightly colored differently, so is one of the Rubik's Cubes on the dog's hoodie, and the horizontal line at the top of the window in the back is missing,

After 30 seconds, an image of a black guy with a wide-open mouth and bulging eyes (the same [[screamer]] image that was used in [[I like bread]]) pops out, with the same scream from [[Scary Tic-Tac-Toe]] played three times.
'''Scary Racing Game''' is a [[screamer]] flash game made by [[PlayScaryMazeGame.net]] in 2013. It looks and acts like a normal 2D racing game, where the player controls a yellow car on a track, as seen in the game.

The game has simple drum beat music that plays throughout the gameplay and uses the arrow keys to drive, reverse, and turn. The gameplay consists of four levels, the last of which contains a screamer. They are very simple - the only increases in difficulty across the levels involve the road getting narrower, and there's a higher amount of sharp turns. On level four, as soon as the player gets to the top left of the screen near the "LEVEL 4" text, an image of a mummy with its skull uncovered appears, quickly zooming in and out with the same scream used in [[The Maze]].
'''Scary Maze Game 8''' was a [[flash]] [[screamer]] game created on December 26, 2012 by '''ScaryMazeGame123.com'''. The website was later defunct but can be accessed using the Wayback Machine.

The gameplay is very short, just like [[The Maze]], the player must navigate a dot to the end of the maze without touching the walls. This game has only 2 levels instead of 3, just like in [[Hardest Maze Game]] and [[New Scary Maze Game]]. For the player to move across the maze, they must click on the "Start" button, and reach the Finish to go to the next level. If the player touches the wall, they will continue on the level they left off.

The first level takes the shape of a Jack O Lantern with text in the top right corner saying "Nice music, right?" despite the fact there isn't any. The second level takes the shape of a dragon. However, almost reaching the goal results in a picture of a skull popping up, as well as a loud scream. After 10 seconds, the game tells the player that "they have been trolled" and asks them to send it to their friends.
'''Scary Maze Game 6''' was a [[Adobe Flash Player|flash]] [[screamer]] game made by '''ScaryMazeGame123.com''' on December 21, 2012. There are also 2 other versions of this game called [[Maze Game 6]] and [[Scary Maze Game 6]] '''(666gamer.com)''', with a similar concept.

The appearance of the maze is a black path and light grey background (except for level 3, which is dark grey). Just like every scary maze game, the objective is to navigate a red dot through the maze, and if the player touches the wall, they will be taken back to the Main Menu. The first level has a few narrow corners, the second level has pointy and narrow corners, and the third level has a challenge where the player must navigate through a black screen using a flashlight. The fourth level has a useless sharp line in the middle.

When the player reaches the middle line in level 4, a picture of ''[[Wikipedia:Rawhead Rex (film)|Rawhead Rex]]'' from the same film pops up along with a looping scream sound.
'''Scary Maze Game 10''' was a [[YouTube]] video published in 2011 by ''Mawskeeto''. It is one of many clones of [[The Maze|the original maze game]], the only difference is that it is a video.

The video features different challenging mazes of different colors that a cursor must go through. The first and third levels are dark blue, while the sixth is white and the seventh is yellow, the second, fourth, fifth and eighth levels are teal like in [[The Maze|the original maze]].

However, on the last level, just as the cursor is about to finish it, an image of a black man with bulging eyes and wide mouth appears and screams. The video is a rather poor quality, the mazes are merely normal images (judging by the fact the cursor passes through the walls), the screamer picture is on a stale, grey background, and the cursor can clearly be seen manually switching between mazes when it finishes a level. The video has been set to private for an unknown reason but a reupload has been made.
'''The Maze''', also known as the '''Scary Maze Game''', was a Flash game created in October 2004 by game developer and programmer [[Jeremy Winterrowd]].

This Flash prank disguises itself as a simple maze game in which the player has to utilize their mouse cursor to move a small dot through the maze. At the start screen, there is a note informing the player that the objective of the game is to pass through all four levels, and the player cannot touch the walls; however, there are only three levels in the game. The game also explains that it is best with the volume on, but there's no sound in any part of the game.

==Gameplay==
The first two levels are easy to complete. But as the third level is reached, the walls begin to shrink and have sharp turns, making it difficult to avoid touching them. This usually makes the player concentrate on the screen. Then, near the first curve to the left of the maze sharp part (The game also knows if the player is cheating; if they use right-click), a close-up image of [[Regan MacNeil]] from the 1973 supernatural horror film ''[[wikipedia:The Exorcist|The Exorcist]]'' pops up along with a loud, distorted scream that plays twice, scaring the player.

The game was uploaded to Jeremy's now-defunct personal website, Winterrowd.com in 2005. The original version of the game had some slight differences in color, where orange/yellow with alternative text was used instead of cyan. There's an alternative version of the game that is used in the comedy television series ''[[America's Funniest Home Videos]]'', where Regan at the end is replaced with the one from [[What's Wrong?]],<ref>youtu.be/qNW7Zzgapsg?t=30</ref> due to concerns regarding copyrighted content.

== Reactions ==
{{Main|Reaction videos}}
[[File:Reaction.png|thumb|left|220x220px|Justice playing The Maze, one of the famous screamers.]]
Many people have posted videos of other people reacting to the game. The first [https://odysee.com/@screamreuploads:e/chad-pranks-his-stepson-justice:2 reaction video] on YouTube was uploaded by OUTLAW713, on February 21, 2006.<ref>http://web.archive.org/web/20070306004420/https://youtube.com/watch?v=Bvv7MBZk_f4</ref> In the [[reaction video]], a young kid, ''Justice'', is playing the maze. Then, he gets surprised by the screamer. Shocked, he starts screaming and repeatedly hitting the computer screen. He then runs to his stepdad, Chad, and starts crying. The original video and channel were terminated or taken down sometime in 2009, however, some reuploads had over 27 million views.
The most viewed Maze Game video was uploaded by YouTube user nalts and has accumulated over 43 million views as of October 2017. However, the channel was terminated by [[YouTube]] moderators.

===Level 4===
[[File:Level4.jpg|thumb|One of the supposed "Level 4"s.|right|200x200px]]
Even though only three levels exist in the game code, some videos circulated about a secret fourth level. On [[YouTube]], there are some fake videos of people supposedly successfully going through the 3rd level and finally entering the 4th level. The earliest "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXWsd5_qlpw tutorial]" on how to get to the 4th level was uploaded by the YouTube user SoccerMomDebbie on October 19, 2008.

Other videos of the mysterious level continued to circulate. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NedCSuGt0eg This video], which has more than 1.25 million views as of 2019 showed the cursor make a shortcut (which in practice would have killed the player) in level 3 unlocks a trigger to level 4 (pictured); once finishing the level, the game goes back to the main screen; text asks the viewer; "care to try a little bit faster this time?".

Outside of YouTube, users on Answers.com also about how to access the level; in response, users either replied a fake way or told the asker that level 4 does not exist.<ref>https://www.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_get_to_level_4_in_the_scary_maze_game</ref>

The fake level 4 was confirmed to have been made in Adobe Photoshop and played using the Microsoft Paint eraser.

=== Parodies ===
''The Maze'' has been parodied on [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CD0ZbvIyQE Saturday Night Live]. There is also a game called [[Save Justin Bieber]], created by Jeremy Winterrowd himself, which replaces some parts of the game with a picture of Justin Bieber instead of Regan, and the maze color is light purple instead of cyan.

In ''[[wikipedia:The Simpsons|The Simpsons]]'' episode "''[[wikipedia:Flanders' Ladder|Flanders' Ladder]]''" ([[wikipedia:The Simpsons (season 29)|Season 29]]) the opening segment has Bart Simpson prank his sister Lisa by having her play a game called "''Genius Maze''", which is a direct spoof of The Maze, however, in this spoof, the jumpscare happened very early on in the 2nd level and has a popup of a zombie, instead of Regan.<ref>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=502ZX1fAKzk</ref>''<nowiki/>''
'''Steady Hand''' (まぢいらいら某 maji iraira bō<ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/translator/comments/ijip9x/japanese_english_message_from_a_japanese_flash/</ref>) also known as '''Japanese Scary Maze''' is a [[screamer]] flash game possibly made in early 2004. Unlike most screamers, the origin of this game remains unknown, but the earliest mention of this screamer was from a bulletin board forum for the game Fortress Forever, which featured a link to the [[screamer]] hosted from the site ''flabber.nl'' in the fall of 2004.<ref><nowiki>http://www.fortress-forever.com/forums/showthread.php?t=772&styleid=1</nowiki></ref> Shortly after, a flash website [[Albino Blacksheep]] also featured the [[screamer]] in November 2004. This was one of the earliest maze games to date; being released earlier than [[The Maze]] itself.

==Gameplay==
The main menu features the Japanese title "まぢいらいら某" which translates as: "Steady Hand (Madji iraraibo)" and text below the title "STARTを押すとすぐに始まります作りが雑ですいません" which translates from Japanese to English into "game will start immediately after you press START".

The gameplay is to guide a dot through the maze surrounded by thin walls and to reach its end. The player advanced to the next level after reaching and clicking that "G O A L" button. Once before the player reaches the end of Level 2, a black and white portrait of a baby wearing a sheep costume (doing the harlequin fetus pose from [[Wikipedia:Deathrealm|Deathrealm]]'s magazine cover) appears in a solid red background, accompanied by a loud roar. The audio for the screamer was also used in [[Zoeken]].

There was an unofficial English version of ''Steady Hand'' in 2005 titled ''Tiny Dot Maze'', which features a different menu screen, the "Game Over" screen being changed into "DAMN!" and nothing much else. The website for it claims to reward anyone who passes through Level 10 with $100. However, an image of [[Hai2u]] appears along with a puking sound instead. The screamer appears after the player dies, rather than just before the end as in the original. Once the [[screamer]] is over, a large text "GOTCHA" appears with the laughing sound of Scooby Doo. Decompiling the flash reveals unused text in the game's files.

'''Scary Demon Face''' is a [[screamer]] video made by the YouTube channel Saxon Burner Studios in April 2008 or earlier.

The clip is 15 seconds long. It opens with a gray-colored shot of the ocean, accompanied by the title "SAXON BURNER STUDIOS" above it while the sound of gusting wind plays in the background. After approximately 4 seconds, the scene changes to a boy looking into the camera. His face backs away slightly, and he briefly stares into the camera before a violin riff similar to the one from ''Psycho'' start playing. As this happens, the wind sound stops, and the boy's face warps at 0:06, transforming into a version of the face with arched eyebrows, and a wide circular mouth and eyes (similar to black holes). A low-pitched male scream is played over this as the boy's face continues warping, before returning to normal. The boy moves away from the camera before the video cuts to black at 0:09, and remains black for the remainder of the video while the sound of blowing wind from the intro plays again.
Sometime between November 2009 and April 2017, the original video was deleted for unknown reasons.
'''ScaryMaze.io''' is an HTML5 game based on the infamous [[The Maze]] game, it was developed by Terminarch Games sometime in 2018, hosted on the website ''scarymaze.io''.

The gameplay itself is similar to the original [[The Maze|Maze]] game by [[Winterrowd.com|Winterrowd]]. There is also has a webcam feature that can be enabled upon loading the game, or disabled if not desired. The game first asks the player to beat its five levels, but like ''The Maze'', there are only three levels.

When the player clicks start, creepy violin sounds play in the background as well as footsteps when the mouse is moved. The first two levels are identical to the original game, but the coloring is pink and there is fog in the background. Holding down the mouse to skip levels does not work in this screamer.

At level 3, the player must first maneuver in a square pattern. Afterward, the path then gets narrow and bendy. Then, near the second curve of the narrow part, a skull pops up with a loud roar and then makes an evil laugh. Finally, the game goes to a screen showing the reaction picture taken by the webcam to be saved; if the webcam was disabled, the game instead shows a stock photo icon and an option to enable the webcam.
'''Satanic Messages in Music''' was another one of those Sabotage games, hosted by [[Liquid Generation]] in 2009, the game itself disguises real subliminal messages behind the songs.

It begins by claiming that some rock bands are susceptible to including satanic references in their songs. It is mentioned that this can be accomplished by playing the songs in reverse. It then plays a couple of song excerpts normally before giving you the option to hear it backward, with the added option of showing the reversed lyrics separately, in case of players choose to guess the lyrics first.

The first song played is [[wikipedia:Led Zeppelin|Led Zeppelin]]'s "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkF3oxziUI4 Stairway to Heaven]", [[wikipedia:The Eagles (British band)|The Eagles]]' "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BciS5krYL80 Hotel California]" is the second album, and [[wikipedia:The Beatles|The Beatles]]' "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cqHtGb9WYM I'm So Tired]" is the final song. Continuing from here, a horned demon comes out of nowhere and utters a loud scream.
'''Sally.exe''' is a [[creepypasta]] .exe game created by the game developer MY5TCrimson, and it is a sequel to ''[[Sonic.exe]]''. The game opens with a scene where Sonic and Sally were about to make a kiss, but the scene stops with a loud static as the BSOD screen appears, and it was cut to black. The Sega logo appears, but with a slow-motion sound. Then the first message to the game, asks the player to up for round 2. The game fades into a disturbing Green Hill background, where Knuckles.exe and Tails.exe were seen in the logo, and Amy Rose appears and the game suddenly turns to static.

The message says that Kyle didn't want to play with him, but he could play with a player or Peridorito. The game suddenly turns black with the same slow-motion SEGA sound playing.

=== Act 1 ===
The player now plays as Amy Rose, and normal Sonic is seen jumping into a big gray ring, and Amy goes into it too, into a happy-rolling place with goals, but around, but as Amy touches the "goal", the game cuts to a loud static with flashing pics appears of Sonic.exe with a horrifying scream.

=== Act 2 ===
The player now plays as Cream The Rabbit, the player is in Kind of fair (Carnival Pursuit), and the player jumps a powerup bottom, and the player suddenly goes way too fast, and the player ends up striking into a wall of spikes, killing Cream The Rabbit instantly. The background suddenly turns static into a black screen again with the same slow-motion SEGA sound playing.

=== Act 9 ===
The player now plays as Sally. The whole place was nothing but Sonic.exe and other characters were floating in the air with a red background. The whole screen slows shrinks on Sally, and as the screen closes on her, a loud splatting sound plays, with a red bloody text, "Sonic my love" appears. The static suddenly pops up and shows Sonic begins to kiss Sally, but a split second shows Sonic.exe's eyes pop up and quickly cuts to a horrifying Sally face with eyes are missing and smile with a very loud demonic scream. The game ends with a background (which is the [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VckqO00AlKM&t=55 Shores of Hell end screen] from ''[[wikipedia:The Ultimate Doom|The Ultimate Doom]]'') and Sally.exe can be seen faded with a Game Over? text on the left with the same reversed US version of Game Over music from ''Sonic CD'' plays.
