Accessible on various devices, the game comprises five challenging levels, guiding a dot through mazes without touching walls. Despite the promise of a "special bonus level" only three levels exist. The third level introduces a unique spiral challenge. As players progress, the difficulty increases, culminating in an unexpected screamer featuring Sarah from The Exorcist and a loud female scream. The game has undergone updates, with the screamer audio from The Maze being replaced.
Hosted on <code>jellyscape.co.uk</code>, it gained popularity, leading to a sequel. Players guide a blue square through five levels, encountering obstacles. Completion may trigger an image of a zombie with a scream. The game consists of four levels, with the fourth being the infamous screamer level displaying a flashing negative image of the What's Wrong? face. The challenge involves guiding a trembling hand with a needle and thread through a small hole, avoiding obstacles. There are three levels with increasing difficulty, introducing balloons and bubbles. Upon completing the third level, a jump scare occurs, displaying a startling image and Pazuzu's demonic face with a loud scream. A coding error causes Pazuzu's face to intermittently flash during certain actions.
At a score of 7, the game takes a terrifying turn, revealing an eyeless image of Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist with the scream from Maze Game 2. Players return to the main menu with the option to continue or exit. Higher scores unlock a star on the game over screen.
The Color Vision Deficiency Test was a screamer produced by Liquid Generation in a series of Sabotage pranks. The game was ultimately taken down along with the rest of the Liquid Generation site.

The game presented itself as a color blindness test, with the player tasked with identifying the number within a circle in a series of increasingly difficult levels. However, in the final and most challenging level, the number (a5) was almost indistinguishable. When the player clicked on the box containing the number, an image of Dr. Judith Kutter (portrayed by Diana Browne) from the 1982 horror film Basket Case appeared on the screen, accompanied by an extremely loud, low-quality scream, followed by a quiet choking sound. Following the screamer, an official Liquid Generation Sabotage outro appeared, featuring a ninja saying "Click here for more sabotage", and a link to Liquid Generation's website. An alternate version of the screamer exists where the Liquid Generation watermark is replaced with the sound clip of a quote "I see dead people" (done by the character Cole Sear, portrayed by Haley Joel Osment) from the 1999 psychological thriller film The Sixth Sense.

The game purports to test the player for skin cancer symptoms and warns them to contact a doctor immediately if the test does not go well. A button in the lower right corner starts the game, and the first test asks for the player's age, gender, and other basic personal information. The player is later prompted to identify the location of their moles on a body diagram. However, selecting any body part triggers an image of Freddy Kreuger from the 1984 supernatural horror film Nightmare on Elm Street, accompanied by the same loud scream from Image Morph E-Card.

The game has the player listen to a secret audiotape of the late Michael Jackson and a boy talking on the phone. While the boy is watching a cartoon, Michael is doing his taxes. Michael also tells the boy some strange proverbs, such as "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" and "two in the hand is better than three ??? in a bush or something."

What's Wrong With This Picture? was a series of Flash animations based on What's Wrong, which was first launched on April 19, 2002. The animation first shows a message asking the player to find something wrong with the picture, and after a few seconds, a screamer appears along with a loud scream, but the series was later removed after Liquid Generation went down.

All Series
What's Wrong #1
The game instructs the player to find something wrong with a photograph of a black and white bedroom from 1969, forcing the player to look at their computer screen. After a few seconds, a woman with no eyes from the 1981 Italian Southern Gothic supernatural horror film The Beyond (7 Doors of Death in the U.S.) pops up along with the same scream from Opticals Illusions and M.C. Escher.

What's Wrong #2
There was a second version of this where the image was an old pipe factory, but after a short second, a zombie mask leaps up with a loud roar. The animation then shows the Sabotage outro where the ninja jumps from the top of the screen, then says, "Click here for more sabotage," and a link to Liquid Generation crushes him.

What's Wrong #3
There's a third version that was added to this series in September 2003, but the animated film of the screamer was not archived on Wayback Machine. There was an archive, but it led to an official Liquid Generation channel after it shut down, and there is no way to play the third version.
Love Card Songs was a Liquid Generation prank in the form of a fake romantic E-Card. Like in many of their older E-Card pranks, the point was less about scaring the viewer and more about embarrassing or possibly offending them with unexpected pornographic material. The screamer was taken down along with the entire Liquid Generation website.

The viewer is presented with a choice of viewing two different animations that involve a cute character singing a love song to them. They can choose to see either a teddy bear or a clown from a jack-in-the-box perform the song. The lyrics are the same for both characters, but each of them sings the song in a different voice: "If grass wasn't green, and sky wasn't blue, If roses weren't red, well, I'd still love you. We'd go to bed, I'll wish you luck, And then we fu..."

At this point, the song is interrupted by a close-up image of a nude woman fondling a teddy bear, which starts zooming in and out as funk music and a woman moaning "Ohhh, yeah!" (The same one from 007 Loves the Ladies, albeit shorter) can be heard.

Decompiling the flash or viewing it at the wrong proportions in a standalone flash player reveals that the woman in the picture is actually fully nude with clearly visible breasts, but only the upper portion of the image can be seen during normal viewing.
Halloween Safety Tips with Jack O. Lantern is a screamer video uploaded to YouTube by Liquid Generation.

The video begins with a door opening to reveal a Jack o' Lantern. He is saying he's going to give kids and parents some important Halloween safety tips. First, he explains that one has to have colorful reflective parts on one's costume so people can see one in the dark, in which golden strips appear on his body. Then he explains that one has to go out with as many of one's scary Halloween buddies as possible and says he likes to go out with his parents when his parents arrive.

Finally, he explains not to eat any unwrapped candy from strangers and to have one's parents inspect it before one eats it, in which he pulls out candy, and his mom unwraps it. Then he eats it and screams into the camera as his mouth gargles and orange blood and pumpkin insides squirt out of his face. His parents watch in shock as he disintegrates.
Bobbing for Apples was a Sabotage screamer game made by Liquid Generation. The screamer was taken down along with the entire Liquid Generation website in 2016.

In this game, the player controls a vampire and has to bob for apples by clicking on the bottom right button or pressing the space bar when the apple bobbing meter is on red. A remix of the Halloween theme plays in the background quietly. However, after four apples are caught, a razor gets stuck in the vampire's gums. He starts screaming and blood covers the screen along with the same scream from Liquid Generation‘s other sabotages. A ninja will then show up and say you have been sabotaged, and a link to Liquid Generation crushes him.
The Da Vinci Code - The Real Truth was a Flash screamer based on the film with the same name, created by Liquid Generation in 2006.

The animation starts with the following text against a red curtain background: "The mysteries of The Da Vinci Code are revealed in the best selling novel and now, a major motion picture. But how does this fictional story relate to the real truths behind these groundbreaking theories? Ever since The Da Vinci Code was published in 2003, we here at the European Historical Institute of Madrid have dedicated ourselves to learning the truth. Teaming up with scholars around the world, our mission has been to investigate these supposed "facts". We recently uncovered surprising truths that can be backed by conclusive evidence. We are confident that our discoveries about the life and times of Jesus Christ will change the religious world as we know it."

When the player clicks next, a message appears asking if the player is "able to learn the truth and crack the code." The puzzle part appears, the puzzle then proceeding to solve itself. Just before the truth is revealed, an unwrapped mummy from the same film pops up with a loud scream. At the end, like every other sabotage, the Liquid Generation Sabotage jingle plays, and the ninja promotes the site before being crushed by the link as normal.

Following the screamer, an official Liquid Generation Sabotage outro appeared, featuring a ninja saying "You have been sabotaged", and a link to Liquid Generation's website. An alternate version of the screamer exists where the scream in the screamer is replaced with the one from Britney Spears Maze and text at the bottom saying SubliminalMessages.Com and the sound clip of a quote "I see dead people" (done by the character Cole Sear, portrayed by Haley Joel Osment) from the 1999 psychological thriller film The Sixth Sense.
Ever been so wide awake?

In April 2004, the German beverage company K-fee released nine 20-second-long television commercials as part of their Wide Awake campaign to advertise their coffee drink. These commercials have been heavily criticized for their content and many feel that the adverts are very unprofessional and upsetting. However, their shocking nature is designed to simulate the effect that the product has on the viewer.

The commercials consist of peaceful scenes, such as a car driving down a grassy hillside to soothing music. However, at some point in the ad, the scene gets briefly interrupted by either a zombie or a gargoyle screaming at the camera, followed by the company's advertising campaign and the product, accompanied by a fast heartbeat.

K-fee received a lot of complaints from their viewers, and soon after that, the ads stopped being aired on television. Some people say that on some other occasions, a warning message was displayed before the advert played, informing any young children, easily scared individuals, and people with heart or certain health conditions to not view the footage. However, this is unproven.

An episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, aired in April 2005, featured a segment where the audience and Jay reacted to K-fee's Car commercial. It was hosted on K-fee's official website from 2004 to 2007 along with the other adverts. The K-fee Car commercial was also featured in 2005 on Tarrant on TV, a famous British show, as well as on America's Funniest Home Videos.

On January 29th, 2021, Rhys Lapsley (Wollstone Studios, Rhys Productions 11 on this wiki) uploaded a one-hour documentary video featuring the actors from the commercials as well as several others involved in their production.
The commercials
Each commercial had both German and English versions, with the captions at the end in the respective language. There was also either a zombie or a gargoyle at the end of each advert. The zombie was played by American actor Brad Johnson, and the gargoyle was played by his brother, Adam Johnson. These ads were first aired on television on April 30th, 2005.

Commercials featuring the zombie
Car (Auto in German)
The commercial begins with a relaxing scene of a white car driving down a grassy hillside to soothing music. When the car passes behind a large tree, the camera follows. Once it pans off the tree, the car is gone. Then, a zombie suddenly pops into the scene very briefly accompanied by <span>a frightening scream,</span> scaring the viewer. This commercial is more commonly known as Ghost Car, Spooky Car or Scary Car Commercial. The commercial was filmed at 36°46'09.3"N 119°15'21.9"W, which is located near Kings Canyon Joint Unified, California.
Fishing (Angler in German)
This shows a man fishing in a lake, and not long afterward the zombie appears, surprisingly not looking directly into the camera as it screams.
Yoga
This shows a person practicing yoga on a cliff, and as soon as the person lifts their hand, the zombie seemingly appears out of nowhere, screaming. (The zombie chroma key seems to be the same one used in the Fishing/Angler ad, but the dark obscures its face.) This commercial was likely filmed at Joshua Tree National Park.
The video starts with a field of wildflowers and a pollinating bee. It then cuts to a meadow with some bicycles leaning against a large tree, and the camera stops moving at a certain point. The zombie, not long afterward, shows up from the left side of the screen and screams.
Surfing
This is a far away view of a person on a beach going to the ocean to go surfing. Then the zombie appears from the right side of the screen and screams. (The zombie chroma key seems to be the same one used in the Car/Auto ad, but it's zoomed in. It isn’t as blurry as in Car/Auto. The Zombie’s chroma key here has an extra frame though.) This commercial is also known as Beach 3, or Surfer.
Commercials featuring the gargoyle
Beach (Strand in German)
This depicts two lovers on a beach about to kiss, and just as they do, the gargoyle jumps up screaming from the bottom of the screen, blocking the view, with blood dripping from its mouth. K-fee Beach was filmed at Point Dume State Beach.
Boardwalk (Weg in German)
This shows a relaxing scene of a boardwalk near a beach, with a jogger in the distance who can be heard breathing, and soon stops to take a break and look at the beach. The camera then pans to the beach as well, and shortly after it stops moving, the gargoyle appears upside-down and screams. This commercial is also known as Beach 2. This commercial was filmed at Moonstone Beach Boardwalk in Cambria, CA.
Buddha
This depicts a woman sitting in a garden, meditating near a Buddha statue. The camera briefly cuts to the statue and then to the woman, and when it moves away to its original view, the gargoyle jumps up screaming. Its face is so close to the camera that it is out of focus.
Golf
A man is shown golfing from far away. Eventually, a faint putting sound is heard, and shortly afterward, the gargoyle appears upside-down and screams. This is the only spot that does not include any background music.
K-fee radio advertisements
Eines Morgens…"

Relaxation
* English version (0:49): The ad starts with the same music used in the K-fee Buddha commercial. Then, a soft-spoken woman's voice said the following: "And now, an exercise to help you relax. Make yourself comfortable. Close your eyes. Breathe in deeply through your nose. Keep your mouth shut. Feel that deep breath go down to your tummy. In, and out. And in, and out. And in, and out. And in, and..." Then, the sentence gets interrupted by the same loud scream used in the other commercials. Then, a voice reads "Ever been so wide awake? K-fee. Canned caffeine with coffee."
Christmas
* English version (0:51): The ad starts with the sound of a clock ticking. Then, a Santa Claus voice says the following: "Ah, Christmas time again at last. And we all have such wonderful childhood memories. Pretty little crooked houses, with chimneys puffing out trails of smoke. Ha, yes. And the icicles glistening in the moonlight all around. The snow crunches softly under our feet, and when we come into the cozy warmth of our houses, the smell of delicious baked apples and freshly baked mince pies, and oh how excited we are when we finally, finally hear the sound signaling the arrival of Christmas..." Then, the sentence gets interrupted by the same loud scream used in the other K-fee commercials. Then, a voice reads "Ever been so wide awake? K-fee. Canned caffeine with coffee."

K-fee light-version advertisements
In December 2005, K-fee released new commercials for their line of Latte Macchiato drinks that parodied their prank flash-style commercials. Using the footage from three of K-fee's most popular commercials (Auto, Beach, and Golf), the company replaced the zombie or gargoyle at the end of the ad with a man (for the zombie) or teddy bear (for the gargoyle) or demon-masked face (for the "upside-down" gargoyle), followed by the text "Jetzt auch mit weniger Koffein." (translated to English as "Now With Less Caffeine") or in the English version, "Now, without so much caffeine." and a picture of a Latte Macchiato Classic or Latte Macchiato Vanilla bottle. The Latte Macchiato commercials were made in English and German and used the same soundtracks from the original versions but higher-pitched. These ads were first aired on television on December 27th, 2005.
* Auto (Light): A man in a light polo shirt appears from the bottom instead of the zombie and softly says “Boo!” in an effeminate, almost teasing voice. The advertised product is K-fee Latte Macchiato Classic.
* Beach (Light): A smiling teddy bear (possibly a hand puppet) appears instead of the gargoyle and giggles. The advertised product is K-fee Latte Macchiato Classic.
* Golf (Light): The demon-masked face appears (but zoomed in) and roars. (he can already be seen clumsily attempting to hide at the bottom of the screen before he rises.) More birds are chirping in background than in the original version. The advertised product is K-fee Latte Macchiato Vanilla.

K-fee magazine advertisements
Between December 2006 and February 2009, K-fee released multiple picture-based advertisements in magazines presumably in Germany. Little is known about these advertisements, such as what magazines they appeared in.

Awards
K-fee has won two awards for its advertisements.
* Clio Awards 2005 (Bronze Award): K-fee's Investment, Love, Relaxation and Christmas radio advertisements.
Parodies
On the Internet, an alternate ending shows, instead of the product and the slogan, the text: "Now...Go Change Your Shorts And Get Back To Work!" in Arial Black instead of the normal ending; the video has gained over 24 million views as of 2025. Other manifestations of this ad include being sent as part of a chain mail which supposedly depicts a ghost appearing during the filming of a television ad (sometimes from Great Britain); the viewer is instructed to follow the car closely, as a "mist" is supposed to appear next to the car at some point. The "mist", of course, never does appear, and the commercial plays out as described above, much to the chagrin of the viewer.
A picture of the famous road from the commercials is one of the possible 404 error images given on Screamer Wiki.
The Amazing World of Gumball
In the British-American Cartoon Network animated series The Amazing World of Gumball (season 2) episode named "The Internet", parodies the K-fee commercials. In one scene, Gumball and Darwin appear randomly browsing Elmore Stream-It while watching videos. Among these videos, they come across what is implied to be the K-fee Auto ad.

Gumball reacts to the video on the website, commenting on the white car driving through the hills and staring closely at the screen, when suddenly the loud scream is heard, causing him to have an intense reaction which gets recorded and posted to the web. The rest of the episode involves Gumball trying to get the video removed, which has given him unwanted fame.
Suicide Mouse is a game based on the creepypasta of the same name, originally released on 2shared.com. All you have to do with this game is to play as Mickey Mouse and walk around (like in the creepypasta). However, it contains a completely original turn despite being an adaptation. It also features a series of creepypasta-themed screamer images. The images include:

* Smile Dog.
* A crude, bloodied Mickey Mouse face (which is popularized as one of the images for suicidemouse.avi).
* Sonic.exe.
* Squidward’s Suicide.
* Noseybonk.
* Slender Man.
* Jeff the Killer.
* Pinkie Pie smiling with black eyes and white pupils from Luna Game.
* Another Squidward's Suicide image, albeit with red eyes.
* Dead Bart (which is actually a screencap of Homer Simpson's melted face from The Simpsons season 4 episode Brother From the Same Planet).
* Tails Doll.
* A Smile Dog fanart.

Each image briefly appears as the player continues walking the secret area inside what appears to be a sewer, accompanied by a deep, ominous bell bang. They then reappear all at once after the heart stops beating, accompanied by a loud screech, followed by Mickey exploding into bloody pieces. The game also features a crane that allows Mickey to hang himself on the crane, followed by him exploding into bloody pieces. Whenever Mickey dies, (which some death sounds are taken from Chinelin's video called "[CREEPYPASTA] Sonic"). a black screen appears with bloody text saying "YOU DIED", taken from the bootleg NES game Bio Hazard, with the U.S. version of the game over music from Sonic CD playing, followed by a return to the main menu.
Save Sammy Maze was a screamer flash game made by PETA, hosted on Canadasshame.com in 2011.

The game is similar to The Maze, where its objective is to guide a seal across all three levels, without touching the ice floe, but if they do, the player may not like what they see after hitting them. The dot features an image of a seal that a cursor can control. Once before the player reaches the end of the third level, an image of a seal carcass, along with a female scream, before displaying the text that states: "Canada Kills Seals" and a message saying "The Canadian Government allows Sealers to beat and skin tens of thousands of these gentle creatures every year. Help put an end to the Canadian seal slaughter now!", not to mention that hitting the ice floe in level 2 or 3 leads to the same pop-up immediately.
The White Christmas Game was a Sabotage screamer by Liquid Generation. The screamer was taken down in 2016, along with the entire Liquid Generation website.

The game features a window overlooking a cartoony Winter landscape, with Christmas lights and a nutcracker figurine on the sides. The instructions, which are narrated by a female voice, tell the player that the window has been frosted over and challenge them to wipe off the frost to "reveal the secrets of the season." A snippet of the Christmas carol Deck The Halls, played on a harpsichord, can be heard in the background.

Once the player presses "Play" or skips the instructions, a finger appears on the screen, which can be moved by the mouse to wipe off the frost from the window. Wiping it will reduce the frost in some areas, which will. However, it quickly freezes over again. The animation and the screamer will always play out the same, regardless of where or how much the player wipes the window, even if they don't wipe it at all.

Moments after the game begins, a blurry figure resembling Santa Claus appears in the background of the Winter landscape. He soon disappears and then re-appears in several different spots, seemingly advancing a bit towards the player's window every time.

Eventually, he will appear in the foreground near the center, after which an edited Santa Claus with the face of the titular character from the 1997 horror movie Jack Frost and a pointy hammer in his hand that has blood on both ends will suddenly pop up with a loud scream right in front of the window, which gets immediately smashed in.
Sonic.exe is a creepypasta game created by the game developer MY5TCrimson. The game opens with the opening screen from the original Sonic the Hedgehog but after a short time, the screen temporarily becomes an "evil version" of the original. Players then come to another screen where they have to press Enter.

Hill (Act 1A)
The player plays as Tails the Fox. The player walks through an empty Green Hill with reverse music. As Tails ventures through, he comes across a trail of doom and destruction with dead birds and even torn flowers as well. When Tails reaches Sonic, he comes slowly as the static plays, and Sonic's eyes pop up with red eyes and it cuts to black. The evil Sonic asks if he wants to play a game with Tails. a game of life or death.

Hide and Seek (Act 1B)
Tails is now teleported to Angel Island but in flames. The player continues to venture through the flames of Angel Island. As the player further ventures, various pop-ups of evil Sonic appears with an evil laugh, and he chases Tails with "Drowning" music. The player tries to run away, but evil Sonic touches as the drowning music ends. Tails begin to sob silently. Then, Sonic.EXE pops up right in front of him in a couple of seconds, Evil Sonic fatally stabs Tails, and immediately cuts to black with a murderous scream from the 1988 horror film Slugs. Right after that, Evil Sonic states that you were too slow and asks if you can try again,

You Can't Run (Act 2)
The player now plays as Knuckles the Echidna. The player ends up in an empty space of Scrap Grain Zone, with a dark red sky with Giygas' theme from Earthbound. The player starts to venture through the empty zone, but as he continues further then static begins to flicker with blood everywhere. After a while, the player will reach Sonic with a distorted message "fOUnd yOu". The player tries to fight off with evil Sonic as the song from Silent Hill plays, but the evil Sonic teleports back and forth and the music eventually stops as Knuckles crawls down with tears and evil Sonic stabs Knuckles, and the same murderous scream from the 1988 horror film Slugs is heard as the game immediately cuts to black. After this, evil Sonic states another message to the player that many souls to play with so little time, and ends with "Would you agree?".

... (Act 3)
The player now plays as is Dr. Eggman. The player is in a castle-like building with the same reversed music from Hide and Seek, but it's un-reverse. As the player ventures down staits, it gets darker with every floor until the player fades away in the darkness, and evil Sonic suddenly heard laughing and the music stops playing. After a while, evil Sonic pops up right before him, and the game cuts to statics. After a while, the game cuts to a close up of evil Sonic, calling himself a god ("I AM GOD") written upwards. Then a couple of static came and evil Sonic laughs very loudly, and more static cames in and goes to black. After a few seconds, a "Ready for Round 2?" message pops up, then, the game cuts to a "Game Over" screen with a reverse US version of Sonic CD plays several time, but then, static pops up with a dark background with nothing but with blurs of blood, with a creepy message with "There is a way to release ourselves. A spell to obtain our souls once more. But we speak it - but when we speak- No sound. We are all deaf. So failure in inevitable. And I regret ever entering my internal bet. With the devil inside of me. Immortality vs. sol snatching, Gary Crook vs Jake Shanley, Ambition is overrated."
Hidden Level (Act ?)
The player now plays with normal Sonic, but with a slow dial-up sound plays as you started to venture through a dark place with horror screams as the bar on the left goes backwards. As the player ventures, the background suddenly changes to red sky as the bar pops out as your continue to venture further. Then after several seconds, an evil Sonic fades and zooms toward his mouth and cuts with red effects and evil Sonic laughs very loudly. After a few seconds, the game cuts to a Japanese message and the game ends.

Spirits of Hell
Created in 2018, now in a more extensive version, now also with the option to make Tails, Knuckles and Dr. Eggman survive at the end of the game, taking many more stages and more killing scenes, with several alternate endings. But it has also changed where the scenes of scares occur in particular phases.

Spoilers Alert!
<u>NOTE</u>: The following description may contain spoilers for Spirits of Hell.
SpoilerStart

*In the first solo stage of Tails, you will get a coconut tree with evil Sonic hanging upside down, if you jump on top, cut to the scene of evil Sonic jumping on the screen with a loud scream.
**At the same stage, if the Tails see the dead animals and return to their plane without getting the Green Ring, the Tails will begin to walk slowly, and out of nowhere, Evil Sonic will go behind Tails, wherein case he picks up, evil Sonic jump to the screen with a loud scream next.
**In the next stage of Tails, in that part where Tails has to run to not get caught by Evil Sonic while playing the song of "breathlessness" in the aquatic stages of Sonic, where Tails seems to run automatically when the music ends, you have the option of jumping on a terrain separated by an abyss not to be caught by Evil Sonic. But if you do not jump in time, you fall into the abyss, where when you reach the bottom of the abyss, Evil Sonic will appear to kill you in the end. And you also have the option to stop running when that song is finished, but if you do, Evil Sonic knocks you down and then appears and kills you, where suddenly the screen turns dark with a scream out loud from Tails, but at least Evil Sonic does not jump off the screen here.
*In the second solo stage of Dr. Eggman, if you can not get within 30 seconds until the end of the scene, Evil Sonic will then wait until you reach the endpoint, where he will then jump on the screen with a loud scream.
*In the stage where only Tails and Dr. Eggman survived, it starts with Dr. Eggman's laboratory filled with fog, with the option of opening the windows to get out of the fog or at no risk. If you open the windows, after all the fog is gone, you will see the Evil Sonic that will go to Dr. Eggman, jumping to the screen with a loud scream at the end, before going to kill the Tails afterward.
*There are also secret black rings which you have to pick up. It initially is completely useless, but in case you only have one survivor, after completing the "Hidden Palace" phase and finding out why Sonic became a demon and started killing everyone, the next stage where goes your last survivor character, will be attacked by Evil Sonic and in case you have not got the black ring, it will kill the last survivor. From there will appear the screen of all shown as undead before Evil Sonic drops to the screen with a loud scream and ends with the game's cliffhanger.
