On July 17th, 2008, the single-serving site was launched with a video clip of a nude woman expelling gas onto a variety of cakes. As of September 2013, the original site is no longer operational; however, several mirror sites and duplicate uploads are available online.

The video starts with a fake one-layer square-shaped chocolate cake. Then, the camera pans to show a woman who tells the viewers that she likes to fart on cakes and that she will need to get comfortable before doing it. She then gets naked, gets her hair out of a bun, sits on the cake, and farts numerous times on it while squishing her butt in the cake, covering her butt with the frosting and the cake batter while still farting and moaning while doing it.

The frosting on the cake was dyed mashed potatoes, and the cake was made of silicone. The woman in the video said she had really bad neck problems after she was done filming it, and she claims that she looks back on the video and laughs at the weird decisions she made in her life, and that that was one of them.

Back in 2004 a website called Cakefart.com showed an animated woman on a cake with fart noises. The image was called mirth.jpg during that time. In 2005 the image changed to a woman farting out of her vagina onto a cake. Finally at around 2010 the image changed back to the original but the image was called mirth2.jpg.

Other shock sites that are parodies to Cake Farts are puddingfarts.com, [[1 Guy 1 Brush|chocoteeth.com]] (1 guy 1 brush), meatloafarts.com, birthdaycakefarts.com, peanutbutterfarts.com, Facialfarts.com, Cakefarter.com, and Tubfarts.com. Pudding farts is of a video of a girl putting farting on pudding. At the end, a little bit of poop shoots out. Meatloaf farts is a video of a girl farting on a meatloaf. Meatloaf Farts and Peanut Butter farts are the only videos that include the person in Cake Farts in the video. This suggests to us that both of the videos were likely filmed in 2008 or in 2009. This second video is 47 seconds in length. It shows a dildo fixed to a mattress for the purpose of keeping it steady under him. The same man from the first video appears within the frame and begins with the insertion of the object while kneeling on the bed. As in the first video, the object causes a bulge to appear in his stomach beneath the skin.

By comparing the physical details from the subject in all three videos, investigators have noted that the features appear to be identical under the same lighting. This suggests that the same person may have been documenting these acts for over a decade, despite the long breaks between uploads.

==Speculation==
Across the internet, there was a theory concerning the man inside the videos regarding his death from injuries within his body following the filming of ''1 Guy 1 Chair''.<ref name="reddit1" /> This rumor about him has since been debunked by others. The story started on account of a post amidst a thread on [[Twitter]]. In that thread, a user claimed that the mother of the subject had died shortly before the video was uploaded to the site. However, this was never proven to anyone. However, around 41 seconds in, she shows a brand of what seems to be lipstick, albeit blurred out for an unknown reason, and the woman's voice suddenly gets cut off by a ridiculously loud bleeping sound when she attempts to say its brand name. Not long after, her computer screen changes to a dark room, and the woman gets somewhat startled by it. After a few seconds, the screen goes back to normal, and she continues with the tutorial.

The video changes back to the dark room at the 55 second mark, somewhat startling the woman again. But this time, she stares at it for about 10 seconds as the room remains on the screen. Immediately afterwards, the video reveals its true shock nature as the woman begins to slam her head into her desk several times. The video concludes with showing her exposed and gruesome face, with blood gushing from her head and nose, as well as a bump on her head exposing part of her brain.

While the original video was removed for containing extremely graphic content, much people know it fakes as well, there are still several copies of the video that exist. The image depicts a woman, naked save for a strange mask and white stockings, lying in a small bathtub with her legs placed behind her head while a fountain of yellow-orange liquid (either enema or diarrhea) shoots out of her anus and onto her face. Due to the genitalia being censored, it was probably originally from Japan. The picture has many mirrors such as ''tubgirl.me'' and ''tubgirl.fr'', which are used as a bait and switch, in which a user clicks on a misleading domain or link and gets redirected to the image.

==History==
The image is notable for the general mystery surrounding its origin. It was obviously created sometime before 2002 and is likely Japanese in origin due to the censorship of the woman’s genitalia. The Tubgirl.me site also features a second, nearly identical image where the woman is wearing black-and-red fishnets and a blindfold, with a much less directed flow of anal expulsion and a piece of paper with a crude drawing of a vulva on it in place of digital censorship.

On June 30th, 2009, a YouTuber MultiCoolTV22 uploaded a reaction video in which two young women view the original tubgirl video, On July 21st, a YouTuber Mama Dorkiness Everyday uploaded another reaction video of two women viewing the video, On April 16th, 2011, a YouTuber Billy Nunez uploaded audio of the late comedian [[Wikipedia:Patrice O'Neal|Patrice O’Neal]]'s appearance on ''The Black Phillip Show'', during which he discusses tubgirl as well as other shock sites. On January 9th, 2016, YouTuber [[Wikipedia:PewDiePie|PewDiePie]] posted a video titled "Things You Should Never Google (Warning Gross) #2", in which he views the tubgirl image along with other shock media. Within three months, the video gained over 5.3 million views and 32,000 comments.

In March 2021, users on TikTok started posting about Tubgirl en masse due to a Don't Google trend that inspired curiosity.
