After clicking past the title screen, a brief message appears, warning the player not to give black licorice to any of the trick-or-treaters at the door. Once the player opens the door, three of five trick-or-treaters will be waiting for you: a boy dressed as a cowboy, a girl dressed as a bunny, a boy dressed as a fire fighter, a girl dressed as a fairy or black cat, and a baby dressed as a pumpkin or a bee. Strangely, all the trick-or-treaters have photos of real children as heads.

The player then must hand them orange candies from a plate, and has to be careful not to click on the black licorice, but it can be difficult not to. If the player does give any of the trick-or-treaters black licorice, the happy music in the background stops. "''Black licorice?''" the kid asks, disappointed, before saying in a deep demonic voice "''I DON’T LIKE BLACK LICORICE!"'' while the kid transforms into a monster depending on which trick-or-treater the player gave the black licorice to, and a scare chord plays. The voices of each kid are different, unless they have the same face. The same goes for the demonic voices, they are all different too. The player automatically slams the door shut before the kid can hurt them. After that, the game resets.

A screamer can occur if the player shuts the door on the trick-or-treaters. Once the door is closed, the baby dressed as a bee peeks through the mail slot and says "''Oh yeah, I almost forgot.''" before busting its head through the mail slot and saying "''HAPPY HALLOWEEN!''" with a demonic face.

Oh hey, it seems like you have stumbled upon my User page. Frankly, I don't have much of a clue how MediaWiki works, but I've been following this community of scary and shocking media since the FANDOM days and I saw that some articles could use a little fixing. I'll probably do that from time to time, maybe leave a nice little comment too. :)

Anyway, this page doesn't really have anything interesting, so you'd probably wanna go browsing this encyclopedia and read about all the '''horrors '''that the internet has to offer instead. A fun time for the whole family, no?

At least websites like this exist for the curious but careful, ones who like to read about scary internet videos or games without actually interacting with them. I'm sure that's the reason for anyone visiting this site, including me. :P

I'm sorry but why the Hell did you ban me, SuperNicholas2005? I was only trying to help by fixing spelling and grammar mistakes to make the articles look more professional. I've been following this wiki since the Fandom page was still up, and I saw pages with bad spelling and I thought I'd use my free time to help make some pages better. Even if it's minor edits. I'll admit and say I never contributed to a Wiki website before so if I made any mistakes like I accidentally delete something, then I'm sorry, but all I did as far as I'm aware was fixing poor English writing. I'm not sure how that's worthy of a ban. :/

The term '''screamer''', also and now more commonly referred to as a '''jumpscare''', is used to describe a game, video, website, or program, that makes the user concentrate on the screen, which may happen in many ways, and then has a sudden unexpected change that is intended to scare or startle the viewer(s).

Most of these screamers use scary images and loud sounds or screams to increase the effect (hence the name ''screamer''). The rest of the episode involves Gumball trying to get rid of the video about his reaction, which has given him unwanted fame.

In the episode "The Spoiler", when Anais wants Gumball to take her to a horror movie, Gumball pulls a prank on both her and the audience by having the screen suddenly cut to a picture of a real-life piranha with its mouth fully open alongside a screeching noise. The screen then cuts to Anais white with shock while Gumball sports a smug grin.

In the Disney animated series ''Gravity Falls'', the episode "Summerween" also refers to screamers. After many failed attempts at scaring two kids who have been coming to the Mystery Shack for trick 'n' treat, Grunkle Stan asks them what they find scary. One of the children shows him a video on his smartphone which says "Watch closely". It then shows a cute kitten, which is abruptly cut by a screaming demonic face, scaring Stan and causing him to have a nervous fit.

In the Comedy Central animated series ''Drawn Together,'' the episode <nowiki>Spelling Applebee</nowiki> parodies the flash screamer [[Where's Waldo?]]. In one scene, Princess Clara disguises herself as Waldo and tells Captain Hero before she disappears into the crowd: "''You know where to find me". As screamers made surface on the web, more reaction videos were being posted and eventually became a trend on the Internet. The concept of a reaction video is to get someone to play or watch a screamer while recording their reaction.
