The wiki contains five infamous [[shock site|shock pages]] including [[Offended]], [[The Pain Series|Kittens, and Puppies]], [[Reporting Un-Islamic Content]] and many of the articles contain shock images such as [[Goatse]], [[Blue Waffle]], and [[Lemon Party]] among many others. as well as numerous other gruesome images, one can find disturbing. It's infamous for every page being something vulgar/disturbing.

Encyclopedia Dramatica has moved domains many times during its life. It was originally established in December 2004 at ''encyclopediadramatica.com'', but said site was later moved to a safe-for-work website called '''''OhInternet''''', which also later closed.

After that, the site moved domain extensions plenty of times from .rs to .se to .ch, and many others, usually because of the owners being arrested or banned.

For a while, there were two sites for Encyclopedia Dramatica. .Wiki, which was created by Jacob Stellmach<ref>https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_nv/E4292822020-1</ref>, was the main domain for a while, however, after Jacob (dubbed Ædiot) attempted to sell the site off to dark netters, the rest of the ED staff forked the wiki and moved the domain to where it currently officially is, at encyclopediadramatica.online.<ref>https://archive.is/CLT7L</ref>
The .wiki domain, however, was still the more popular domain as Google put that site first and Wikipedia does not list .online. Later on, however, .wiki shut down which signified even more that .online was the true æ.

The '''BME Pain Olympics''' are a set series of promotional [[shock site|shock videos]] released by ''BME'', short for ''Body Modification E-zine'', beginning in 2002. ''BME'' is a website created by Canadian blogger Shannon Larratt in 1994, that is dedicated to covering extreme body modifications and erotic body play. These videos consist of genital mutilation contests, showing different people drastically mutilating, burning, electrocuting, and dilating each other's genitals painfully, hence the name "Pain Olympics".

The creator was born on September 29, 1973, and died March 15, 2013, in Toronto, Canada.

It was later confirmed by Larratt that the first installment was faked, but all the other sequels are actually 100% real. The promotional sequels were linked on Shannon's blog and can be downloaded and viewed off the blog's video section alongside other videos of extreme body modification.
